Well, maybe. I have a lot of testing to do. One thing it does do well right now is upload and create a bot from scratch. I used that for Zim and Gir.
ANNOUNCEMENT: I've decided to learn C++ and re-create the AI Engine in that language. It's the only way to move forward. ColdFusion and Java are too slow. This is a tough language, and will take some work. But once it's done, the thing will blaze. All advanced features will be active once again, and responses will be calculated within a second. I expect 2-3 months to do this, as time permits.
To answer some questions: Xfavorites will answer most favorite questions. (type) is food, eg. (specific) is brownie, eg.
The screen names idea for guest chats is a good idea, and easy to do. I'll put that on the long list.
Xgoodbyes dont auto-trigger xgoodbyes. There are a lot of words and phrases that trigger it, but I dont think l8ter is in there.

Prof,
I'm learning C++ right now as well. I haven't decided if knowing Visual Basic is an advantage or a handicap.

Eugene, maybe we can help each other out.
I'm on day 4 of Sam's Learn C++ in 21 days, though I'm pretty sure there's a lot of things it's not going to cover, for example, how to access a database using C++ (if that's possible). I've seen it work with text databases, but that might be too slow for ColdFusion. I'm going to try CodeWarrior as my compiler. What are you using?
MOUSE- SQL is a data querying language, and if I can access a database with C++ I'll use it within. ASP is probably the same speed as ColdFusion, and I dont know if it could even do the job. C++ compiled is FAST, 7x as fast as Java, 40x as fast as Perl.

I'm using Visual Studio.net, but I've heard that Code Warrior is very good. I haven't the foggiest idea how to access a database in C++, although I used to know how to access an Access database in Visual Basic. It's been about six years.

I've was using Code Warrior for Java, and though I found that it was generally very good, it had some strange ways of doing things, especially in terms of where files are saved and how. I personally use X emacs now because it gives you more control, but not everyone likes that. I'm assuming that the programs are basically the same when using Java or C++.

Go prof go!

Glad to hear you're at it again... Redoing it in C++ sounds great! Will you be making client applications that enable our bots to chat with us off line?
