Rahz! Haven't seen ya around for a while! Hows it goin, buddy?

Heya Rahz!

Yes, eventually this will lead to Mac/PC standalone apps, but that'll probably happen after I get this all working here with the advanced features, and some new stuff I have in mind.

Turing's- I dont mind not having full control. At least not yet. I think the environment is the same for C++ and Java.

Eugene- is Basic a compiled language these days? I used to write little Basic apps back in the Apple IIc days.

Visual Basic has advanced light years. Version 6 is fully compiled, although I program in Version 3 which needs a runtime DLL. Many VB programmers are upset by the most recent version, VB.net, however. They say it isn't VB anymore. In know one professional programmer who is changing occupations because he can no longer trust Microsoft.

There goes another conversation righ tover my head. But another thought: could there be some sort of gender recognition built into the bots to whom it is important. Or is there some other way to deal with the he/she thing. (In bots, I mean. There is NO way to deal with it in humans).

Yeah. If they can refer to a bot's sex when gossiping, they should be able to do it in direct conversation. Of course, that might make us loose many of the strange things that are said to bots of same or different sexes...

I'm doing pretty good, thanx Shady!

I've been a little too busy lately to log in as much as I'd like to... thing is, once I get the bug, I can't stop building and chatting and getting all kinds of visions of bots making the world a better place in a distant future!

Winter's here now, so I should be back on every once in a while!

Prof, I wanna help too! I'm learning to program interfaces for OS X. I'm planning on gaining a little knowledge and experience, so I'll surely be able to take that burden off you by the time you're ready to go ahead with that.

I know what ya mean about the winters... Out of no where, we had 12 degree C days and then over the last 2 days we got piled with 30cm of snow, rain and freezing rain...

Sounds great. I'm living in a part of the country where the locals think anything under 70 degrees is lethal.

22 years ago #1407
well, it is! LOL

Love this quote from the weatherperson (lady):
"When the snow comes down... the accidents go up"

12 degrees C? Isn't that like hotter than the sun? Colder than space? Can't we all just agree on Fahrenheit? I mean, that way you know it's hot when it's 112 or cold when it's -20! While we're at it, let's get rid of that silly metric system and stick with feet.

22 years ago #1409
Hey! It was Ford or Carter who made us Canadians go metric!

Go metric or go home... How come we call how many kilometres we've got on our cars "Mileage"?
