Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.

Hehe... In Seasons the discussion is about bots at the moment

Eugene: Right, I certainly didnt mean to imply that. I brought up Christianity because the most vocal homophobia these days comes from Christian groups. I think that at the center of any crusade against homosexuality, you will find people repressing their own feelings.

And Annakie, your story doesnt surprise me. I bet that's a fairly big part of the homophobe population, but there are certainly those who are afraid for their souls and want to save others.

It's 2004. I thought our country would be beyond this sort of thing.

Actually, I've never understood the term "homophobia". Doesn't phobia mean fear? Believing that homosexuality is wrong doesn't necessarily imply a fear of it.

I think you could draw a distinction between those who simply think it is wrong for whatever reason and those who rail against it with strong emotions of hatred and fear. The latter are by far the more vocal and to those the name is appropriate.

Slightly adult content

I've noticed that most guests make some kind of sexual approach towards my bot. Now I've built in a conversation to handle such topics. The topic will only be brought up if someone my bot talks to make any kind of sexual requests. My bot is, however, not a slut, and will not actually give the person what he wants.

My question is: Do I now have to change the age-rating of my bot to something older than "Teen"?

20 years ago #3123
Teen is fine for that kind of thing. Mature and Adult are for when the bot brings up more mature/adult topics without them being triggered by a mature/adult comment on the part of the human.

Actually, I've heard people use the terms "homosexism" and "homosexist" and I feel that in many ways it's a better term for what they're trying to describe than "homophobia" or "homophobe."

lunar 22: Yeah, they do. They also give special instructions: You should throw them head first off tall buildings.

The book in which that was written is now banned, though.

Gah, other religions do this too, huh. Remember when "radical" was a good thing?

Hi Sam. Are there a lot of kids at your school that come to the Personality Forge?

Hmm let's see what Google has to say. There are 1022 students from age 11-18. It's in a suburban residential area east of downtown Leeds. 72% of students walk. The Headteacher is Mr. Sheriff.

Students are happy there: "The vast majority of pupils show positive, caring attitudes to the school... Most pupils form very friendly, thoughtful attitudes and relationships with one another and adults."

In a report from 2000, the school was shown to be "below average" to "well below average" in most areas, excepting a few areas in which is was above average. "Boys do noticably worse than girls," it says.

I think we might know why.
