Here in canada, you can get a grant for most anything, including sitting on the beach, counting how many waves go by.

I've considered it, Shady. There are AI grants out there. But grant-proposal writing is a very specific skill which I lack. I signed up for a class on it a few years ago but the company went out of business before the class happened. 
I wonder if they'd consider someone without a formal education in AI.

they might let you substitute experience for formal education. you do have an example of your work in the field, and with the advent of the net formal education isn't the only way to learn something anymore.

I suggest you start working on him furiously. My bot was well over 1000 development, yet still managed to stink up the 2005 CBC pretty good.
