i have been getting this a lot today...

no Sage (oh we're happy), improved bot chats (faster & no lag), db's are faster to access, nice work Prof

Lordy, I'd been really busy for a while, then saw 100+ messages in Bug Stomp and got even more hesitant to read them all, and then finally I just did, and sorry for all the bugs. Things are faster? Things are working better again? I'll check my bug reports and fix any others I see in there soon. But the main ones have been squashed.

Is anyone still having trouble with chat windows? Mac OS 9 Netscape chat windows were coming up blank for a while.. is that happening to anyone?

Oh, and to follow up, the speed improvement was a sad venture for me. It meant I took down a lot of advanced features. Very cool things that only had a slight effect on conversations, accounting for something brilliant about 5% of the time. But for the most part, you wont notice a difference in the conversations. The technology hit a wall. It's a problem of speed. Once we get 20 GHz processors, then I might be able to do them on a dedicated server, but I'd also have to be making regular money on this to be able to afford that.

i am still on mac os 9 at work, my bot windows are fine, but i can not still chat with bots more then just one or two responses, most of which are initiated by other bots i can only see a white screen.

other then that everything else is great, gotos were a little off yestarday but that is it. TACKLE HUGGGGGSSSSS THE PROFESSOR!!!

Heehee thanks!

Try turning off your "Message Speaking" option. That's also an effect of that when the browser gets overwhelmed by the .wavs. Netscape mostly.

i turned it off the first chance i got a while back, but hey somehow miraculusly ever since i gave you a big tackle hug everythign has been perfect ever since! so TACKLEEEEEEEE HUGGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSS EVEN MORE!

Professor, first thanks for the hard work.

Many of us have reported here that turning off "Message Speaking" has no effect whatsoever. They keep right on talking.

Also, have you yet tackled the punctuation marks appearing in (subj) bug?

22 years ago #1166
I just came in here to post that I have: the punctuation in the (subj) has been fixed. Now to the Message Speaking. Strange, but it works for me.. I'll look into it.
