The idea of a bot sounding human comes from the "Turing Test" concept -- that if a computer program could convince anyone that it was human in a blind conversation, then it would mean the program was genuinely intelligent.

What I don't get is, what if you convince the judges it's an unintelligent human?

"Intelligence" in this case means sentience.

Alan- as far as bots that tell stories, you can get a list of them by going to "Bot List", unclicking the "No" under "Storyteller", and then doing a search.

My bot is almost two years old, still sounds retarded at times. Sounds almost human at other times...

You won't get it to be perfect, or probably anything close. Just try to hang in there until you can make it better, and it'll be entertaining nontheless.

Note: Bots don't improve themselves automatically. If you want it to get better, you have to add keyphrases and responses.
