adding a tiny little smile to alien's face didn't work neither... I'll lobby the aliens themselves, maybe that will help

Emm, that's funny--I had a guest tell me through Greebot that I was stupid for "paying for that avatar" by which he or she presumably meant the flash interface (or was the guest just ignorant in general). Ever since then, I've been dying to find said guest and tell him or her that one doesn't pay for an icon or flash interface, one pays to support the PF (and I pay very little as far as that goes too). Thanks for making a joke that let me vent that suppressed rant.

Actually, strictly technically speaking, Friends of the Forge Account is one of the preconditions for a custom icon. But, you're right, Bev, one pays to support the Forge, and for that reason only. Anyway, a custom icon doesn't even come with FOF account automatically, but is still a subject to revision, i.e. "the standards still apply - it must be a cartoon-style 40x40 pixel image of a face", and I for one understand why all these preconditions and requirements.

Hee hee You are correct Interzone. In a way it's like the gifts public television uses during pledge drives. (or is that only a US thing?) No one pays $50.00 for a tote bag, but they tell you you can get a bag if you donate all the same.

My issue is that not all the standard icons follow that. What about the one of a flame? That's not a face.
