Thats because Will Smith is in the movie! What kinda actor is Will Smith?!

Will Smith can be entertaining (Fresh Prince, Men in Black), but overall he is not a 'great' actor. The suits just know he's a box office draw, and the money is all they care about.
The reviews are out.. and it's getting average reviews. Yah to me it looks like such a typical plot-line, which is awful for a movie with such interesting ideas behind it.
And how often is AI the bad guy? I'm not sure if you've discussed this in here, but can we name all the movies where AI is the enemy?

Re: the discussion about The Pirate Movie. Some of you were wondering about it's availability on DVD. I was at a friends birthday party recently and she showed it to us on DVD which she hired from her video store. So it does exist. If you can't find it, it could be because the film was some sort of American-Australian co-financed type thing. Maybe the DVD only came out in Australia. I'd say that if you went searching you would dig it up.
Oh and for the record, I found it tragically kitch, and pretty funny.

Colonel Sanders in the Matrix 2 & 3 was kinda cool... 
I can think of two that tried to show them in a positive light: 'AI' and 'Bicentennial Man'. Unfortunately they weren't terribly good movies.

AI was a terrific movie!
Simone was a pretty BAD movie but didn't show AI as dangerous, just clueless.
Think think think think......Tin Woodsman in the Wizard of Oz. Good guy. Edward Scissorhands (does that count?): good guy. On the other hand, including Edward means we'd have to include Frankenstein's monster.
