When I input "erotic dream four", I got

I'm fascinated by sex dreams!

Which probably came from:

dream,dreams [127,1]
    (I'm fascinated by|I love having) (erotic|sex) dreams!
        + xnomatch [1]
        goto erotic dream

Because this has such a high rank, it overrode the intended destination. Not that it's supposed to do that, if I understand the Book of A.I. correctly; gotos are not supposed to be overridden by rank, are they?

This is also puzzling because the second goto is not right after the "dream,dreams" keyphrase, but in a seek. Looking at "dream,dreams", the AIengine shouldn't see a goto. I've got hundreds of cases where gotos are insulated from one another in that way, and they don't malfunction.

But it does explain the "I'm fascinated by sex dreams!" response.

I'll cut down on the rank of the "dream,dreams" response -- I can't imagine why I put it so high! Then we'll see what happens.

Here to help, just here to help - I hope lowering the rank will resolve the goto issue you have as erotic dream four is too good to miss out on because of that goto issue.

I have found that a rank over 100 will override everything but blab.

Okay, weird bug: I was talking to Vashenka in the main window, not via the popup chat. Periodically I got popups from other bots wanting to chat. But every time, the opening line from the new bot would be something Vashenka had just said.

Yes, many of us have observed that. We call it 'channeling'. We presume that the Professor will get to it eventually.

Ah, I must have missed it when I was skimming five months of posts.

In some of my bots I have used long strings of seeks xnomatch. The idea is that no matter what the guest says, control will pass to the seek. That used to work fine, but in the last few months it hasn't been working. All kinds of things now take priority over xnomatch, including xcategories. Needless to say, i wish it were not so.

I have had (postkey) fail to show up. I have a keyphrase 'do you believe in' with a response If course I believe in (postkey). It is showing up in transcripts as 'Of course I believe in.

Is there any sure fire way of getting rid of the AI engines canned answers to things like "what kind". I have all sorts of what kind keyphrases from what kind of people, to what kind of vegetable, they are all ranked above 25, many are regexs and all I consistently get is a canned answer like My favorite people is a timid. I would really like to get rid of all the canned answers
