The site is going through a complete overhaul. It may just not be working yet.

Hmmmmm..... I expect the Prof still has work to do but I can't update my bot online at the moment. Grrr.... I get a 404 window open when I click on my seeks and when I try to update my keyphrase it goes to a 404 page.

Just a quick one, how do I tell if a bot is online now?

Rykxx, If you click the "View" button next to a bot on their listing in the Bot List, it will say "NOW ONLINE! ( X minutes)" just under their name.

For whoever want to update their bots, import/export are working fine (or at least it was working last night when I was on).

Carlene, the PF does recognize smilies with noses. Do a colon end parenthesis or see if the bottom bits work for you.

PS Carlene--could be worse--I could have had a tutor bot up in a class website and had the bot sexing students up--law suit for me!

That's why I am so glad to have guests under different IP'S. I feel very bad when a memory from a jerk is used on a nice guest.
404 error
I still can't update a keyphrase either. Does anyone know if the import export is working?

Import/export is working fine for me.

I just got a working "bots are chatting" pop-up and the transcript is coming in. (My bots' responses are from its own database, as well).

I hate to be uncooperative, but the problem still exists with me.

I can export all my bots; I can import the smaller ones. But I can't take any of them out of hibernation (nor can I change my own settings), and I'm having the 404 problem all over the place. The news suggests everything's finished now, but I haven't been able to do anything (but talk to Kobal) for days. Not to look a gift-Prof in the mouth. I'm just in withdrawal.

And, BTW, am I the only one who likes the pop-ups? It enables me to chat without tying up my whole system while I wait for grass to grow to get an answer. The grass might grow faster now, but, still, the multi-tasking is nice.

I just fixed the 404 problems in the My Bots areas that you guys are talking about. As to the chat appearing in the wrong place, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I tested in a few different browsers and the chat are all appearing like I intended. If you could, let me know the name of the chat page, OS, and the browser you're using that's not displaying correctly and I'll look into it.

Also, I'm working on another big improvement to importing bots. I got the hardest part of it completed tonight, and it's very fast. It should be ready to go later on this week.

The bot-switching is a known issue since the site update, and I'll look into it after the import upgrade is finished.

Oh, I was just whining about Forge withdrawal. I checked the pop-ups (by clicking on the smileys) and they still work as before, so forget I said anything.

And I've just been able to take bots out of hibernation and change my own settings.

The big thing left for me, then, seems to be the problem importing bigger bots (under 600K). The smaller bots import fine.

Thanks for what must have been a Herculean effort. Our collective kvetching really amounts to a measure of how much we love the place.
