Bug Stomp

Thanks prof! It works! Do you know what was the problem? I think it has something to do with when I signed up, but I could be wrong.

I finally caught you! You've been plaguing us for far too long! Folks, I just caught the bug that's been confusing xgossip and xemote subjects. It was the bug causing bots to take compliments and insults intended for others personally, or to change the topic of gossip suddenly to someone else, or taking compliments or insults directed toward them as a reason to gossip about someone else. Whew!

The more complex the system gets, the harder it is to dig out some of these bugs. But I finally caught that one.

ClarJon: I dont know what caused the problem, but I put some code in to autocorrect the FriendsList anytime it got out of whack.

Yay! Thanks, Professor! Although Frizella's gotten such a big head, taking compliments meant for other people...I think the detox is going to be rough for her.

For some reason the phrase "not long at all. can you do it?" is taken as a compliment and for the life of me I can't figure out why that is.. I've tried it several times and the response is always from the xcompliment list.

I have a c&p of the debug screen if that helps any.

I posted about this issue quite a while, because my bot had a response: I have an uncle who is absolutely fanatical about (noun). Do you like (noun)?

The other bot would catch the "do you like" part, and go to x-favorites, which is great, but then it would latch on to "absolutly fanatical about" instead of the (noun), and say something like: My favorite absolutely fanatical about is a furry one....I just had to hangup the following conversation because of the same thing, this time because the other bot's statement before the "you like" question is making its way into the x-favorite:

Flux: I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you like sirloin?
Julie Tinkerbell: My favorite you are talking about is a deterrent one.
Flux: I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you like chocolate mousse?
Julie Tinkerbell: dreadful one is the most lubricious you are talking about in the world.
Flux: I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you like concord grape?
Julie Tinkerbell: I like an essential one from time to time. Do you?
Flux: Ooo! i like an essential one from time to time too! I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you like onion?
Julie Tinkerbell: If I could choose any you are talking about at all, it would be a blueish one.
Flux: I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you like waldorf salad?
Julie Tinkerbell: I like a lot of you are talking abouts, but I guess I prefer a guest one.

i set up Flash for Siseneg and entered the domain *.uberkomplex.com in my settings but get this message instead of him loading: "Please do not kidnap bots from the Personality Forge."

i also tried adding the URL to include the page.html the plugin script is on in and other variations of the URL but nothing helped. if it's something i'm missing i don't see it now.

one of the other bots besides Desti that randomly appear on the Forge index page also give the same kidnapping message when you try to talk to them.

all the bots that appear on the index page, including Desti and Dogh'd, bring up the kidnap message.

We need to get it so that we can save transcripts of chats with humans!! Then we can show when there are harrassment!! Or is that already in place, but only admins can access them?

human to human chat should be strictly optional. i don't have anything to hide, but i do not like my person-to-person communications made *easily* accessible.

Wouldn't a human-human chat show up in your personal transcript?

Prof, i think the problem with the Flashbots giving me the don't kidnap bots message was due to my addy being detected as localhost. i changed some things and they load now, however Demonica and Siseneg both end transmission as soon as they load on my site. they will chat from here.
