Professor,

I guess I'm just having a problem with this/that/those/these being marked as an adjective in any case. I guess it's technically correct, but doesn't help at all in matching on (adj). For example, not having a more specific match, my bot might return the following for (adj): "Not as (key1) as you'd think!" -- Doesn't look too good when you get something back like "Not as that as you'd think!"

Just one example, but I can't think of a situation where you'd really want to get one of those words when seeking an adjective.

I see your problem, but there's cases where it's necessary to have them as adjectives. Here's one..

Message: "Do you like that dog?"
Keyphrase: do you like (adjartnounprep)
Response: I'm crazy for that dog!

xCOMMAND IMPROVEMENT!
I've just made several big improvements to xCommand, which solves every case on my large list of "things that are not commands". It makes sure of the following things before triggering xCommand: That there are no words in the sentence without a linkgrammar link to another word, that no words are respelled, that no words are unknown, that no words are in the "not-a-command" list, and that the command is not a third person statement.

Yay! Thank you, Professor!

Yay for the xcommand! Thanks, prof.

I think I've solved my this/that problem, but I've found another...

Consider having the keyphrase (this|that) (noun)
Words that can only be nouns will hit this, ie "that apartment." However, words that can be more than one type will not hit it, ie "that dog" (n, v). The weird thing is that even if I add in another keyphrase (this|that) (verb), the phrase "that dog" will not match either of them. It is listed as only n,v in debug.

Yah I saw that the other day and was wondering if that had always been the case, or if it used to make a guess at least. That's definitely something to fix. But it'll probably be a week.

It's happening in botchats, Prof.

Shadyman- Tha Mmm thing is an interesting theory- you had me for a minute, but what's happening is this:

Otherbot: hmmm
Julie: Why do you say that I am full?
(which is a response for Julie's keyphrase "i am (adjartnoun)")

Today I noticed that because "A" gets ignored as a name, Julie calls the bot A M N E S I A, "M N E S I A".

Hi! I'm having trouble with people being able to chat with my bot from a link offsite for more than a few exchanges. It says "Note: the bot no longer wants to talk to you". At first I thought it might be doing this when the bot is offline, but today it did it while online too. It's not supposed to be like that, is it?
Thanks so much for the help. This site is so fun!

I got a message tonight that said "hello there", but there was no name or avatar on it, only a red X where the avatar should have been. I clicked the X and it took me to their profile, but the only information it had on it was that they had joined 4-15-04, last on Yesterday 12 AM for 0 minutes. It didn't have an AI rating which led me to believe it wasn't a bot but the menu showed me as the only one here.

Could someone have used a character that doesn't normally show for a name? I viewed and saved the source of the page but didn't see anything listed as a name. This was what the source listed for the message:

MessengerID=812073","ChatMessage812073
'realtime.php?UserID=','send727446'

Bowchickawowers- It means the Bot is frustrated because it's not recognizing enough Keyphrases and has stopped chatting. I'm currently working on distinguishing Guests by IP, and once that's working, frustration with one Guest wont spill over into others. For now, create more Keyphrases to fix the problem, and wait.

Ruebot- no UserID was sent with the message. The Bot/User must have half-logged out or half-ended the message while it was being sent.

I got one of those weird messages, too, Prof.

More language from nowhere:

SERVOTRON: Morteus may be eligible for conversion.
Simulo: What makes you think I have a mind superior?

Simulo is replying to "your (adjnoun)" ...
