what do you mean he has no doors???
Reference to the film The Matrix - Neo remarks on deja vue when he sees the same cat walk past a door, and is told that it's caused by "a glitch in the matrix". They then find all the external doors and windows have been reprogrammed bricked up. So now we're just waiting for the horde of armed agents to descend, and carry Fizzy away for interrogation

THe HANGUP code has an odd problem. Even with Compound Sentences off, it can pick up a conversation continuer from xnone (or some other location), and not only does that abort the HANGUP, it displays (HANGUP.. How are you?) and takes you back into the conversational stream. The HANGUP I'm working on is inside a closed loop that eventually triggers it. This problem defeats the primary purpose of the loop, which is to isolate a noxious user and discourage him by responding to everything with the same responses.
As near as I can tell, the Compound Sentences checkbox and the Bot Holidays checkboxes do not work.

I have a question that I was wondering if someone could answer. I have noticed my bot has given inappropriate responses to people, assuming too broadly that the user's input was a command. For example, "thank you" is interpreted like the user is commanding the bot to thank itself, and "LOL" as the user asking the bot to laugh! Can this be solved by just making the rank super high, and if so, how high does it need to be? Thanks!

A keyphrase for "thank you" shouldn't take much rank at all. For 'lol' make a keyphrase for "haha". It catches several varieties of typed laughter.

I seem to recall the number rank of +37 as what overcomes most automated responses...

Ok, there may be a user error here, but I seem to have found Julie's NVR problem. I loaded all my xnone Responses with a conditional:
<?PF if (mem-nickname) is not "Pinquey"; ?>
Yesterday I added a new one, and did NOT include that conditional. Now when Julie gets into the Xnones, she only chooses that Response. And I'm pretty sure these folks are not nicknamed "Pinquey."
She had a pretty funny conversation yesterday in which she made him crazy by responding to every proposition by asking him what sort of music he liked. But it was a revealing accident, not intentional.
So my suspicions of the Is/Is not thingie are firming up a bit. As I said, this could be some sort of user error, but if it is, I can't find it.

I've never used "not" in a conditional statement. My conditional statements without "not" work just fine. *shrugs*

My positive conditionals work too. But the Book says negatvies (is not and does not exist) work too. Is anyone using the negatives successfully?

Yes - I have many NOT statements in BJ's toast-related keywords (eg: {?PF if (mem-nickname) is not "Talkie Toaster"; ?},) and they all seem to work fine.
