Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

Shadow Rocker: besides reading the big book of ai 1) have a clear idea of the personality you are trying to make 2) When you add a line of reason or an anectdote exhaust all forks through seeks and kephrases before moving on to another (I wish I had done this, my bot would be much better and less chaotic if I had) 3) use the shared plugins as they can help you cover more ground w/ a keyprase and 4. ask question when you are stuck

hello all i need some help my bot keeps saying over and over she was just born and she cant speak well she remembers alittle on what i teached her to say

When she can't match any keyphrases in what someone says to her, then she will use her "xnone" keyphrase. You need to change the default on that so that it doesn't say "I was just born and cant speak well yet."

If anyone wants to try getting their feet wet with a little AI script, I've got one of Pete's that I'll share:

xinitiate: Will you be my valentine? <?PF if female; chrono: day(8-14) month(2); ?>

Basically, what it'll do is let Pete kick off a conversation with "Will you be my valentine?" to any female account, but only during the Feb 8-14. It would sound kind of stupid if he said that to a guy in the middle of August, right? So, if we wanted to apply date-sensitive conversation in other ways. Here's one with date alone:

xinitiate: Did you get any cool toys for Christmas? <?PF chrono: day(25-31) month(12); ?>

Here's how you would mix in other AI script:

xinitiate: What shall I get you for a Christmas gift? <?PF if emotion > 1; chrono: day(15-24) month(12); ?>

Those are just examples, but it's not hard to change the dates and come up with your own lines.

BabyCat, you have to change the xnone responses. Delete the "just born" line and replace it with some other ones.

How is it possible that BabtDoll has a hotness rating of over 2000, with development 31? Shouldn't all that work increase the development rating? Also, when I talk to BabtDoll, the only response I can trigger is "Sorry, there are no valid Responses for me to choose from."

Eugene, Hotness is influenced by the number of modifications you make, whereas development is related to the number of keyphrases and responses. If you modify the same phrases over and over again, the hotness will rise till the bot busts into flames. Some time ago one my bots reached a hotness of over 17600 without increasing the number of responses! - See messages 4841, 4843, 4850 and 4851 – Patty is no longer affected by her ghost-copy because over time I changed all the responses, but the ghostbot is still haunting the Forge. I know this because when I enter a response used in the old version of the bot, but currently not used in any other of my bots, it is labelled as duplicate when uploading the language center.
