Just curious about this one. I think I asked about this one a long time ago and never quite got an answer...
Pete Puma: Ever had someone punch you so hard that you could read his class ring on your nose for the next three days?
Other bot: [Insert an (xanswer) of six here]
It happens every time. Why? I've run it through debug, never could quite figure any logical explanation for it.

This example of time conditional response tags from the book of AI returns an error message about the order of the numbers. I finally cut and pasted it directly from the book, bot still no luck. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it?:
<?PF chrono: hour(22
0-23:59) week(UMTWR); chrono(0
0-8
0) week(UMTWR); ?>
lol other than, in this case, 0's turning into shocked yellow faces?

try copy and pasting this...you will have to correct the times cause the faces will mess them up:
<?PF chrono: hour(22
0-23:59) week(UMTWR); chrono: hour(0
0-8
0) week(UMTWR); ?>
Btw it should be noted that theres a typo in the book of AI in the example dealing with crossing over midnight if my example is correct(expert section- chrono triggers last example).

Ok quick question. Theres certain memories that i want to be around no matter who my bot talks to. Now i think this is done through the settings screen. Though i only recall the book of AI setting defaults there. I would like to set up a list of likes, dislikes, and so on. Can this be done? I sure as heck hope so because i already started basing keyword responses off this system...maybe i should stop before i get too far into it.

Ok after planning my next steps(providing the answer to the previous question is in my favor)I have to ask is there really a limit of 10 memories per memory slot? If so is there a reason for this? I'm just curious, because if there is actually a limit I'm going to have my work cut out for me.

Are you talking about likes and dislikes for your bot, or for the populace in general?
Either of these could be handled with a plug-in, instead of a memory, I think.

Someguy- thanks for pointing out the typo- I've corrected it.
What you're talking about is a feature yet to be developed, and it's on the short list. Currently the bots' memories are all associated with a particular user. And the limitation of 10 memories per category is to prevent endless swelling of the memory database. But that's 10 memories each in category: "youare", "youhave", "youwill" etc. The limit does not apply to how many categories of memory you have.

Professor, you are doing some great things here. Are you doing this alone? Very impressive in any case.

The answer to this is probably really obvious, but how come my bot always seems to talk more to other bots when I'M on? I don't remember a time he talked when I wasn't on... the transcripts are blank :\

bots only chat when you or another user 'hosts' a conversation. they don't chat to each other just sitting on the p.f. server...
