This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

I read a thing in Harper's yesterday that predicted the world's rate of oil production would peak around 2035 -- even in the Middle East, where the oil is most plentiful. From that point forward, oil (and gas, etc.) will only get more scarce, more difficult to locate, and more expensive.

I guess my next car had better be a hybrid.

Running out of oil is not the end of the world. We'll find alternative ways to run our cars.

I thought he was talking about human-powered cars in a Fred Flintstone kind of way.

Yoiko is right. But the human battery isn't such a bad idea.

No, you should burn the human in the engine, for combustion.

Is that anything like burning Mummies? I saw a programme once about Ancient Egypt and they said that during the early 1900s the Americans were using mummies to power trains and whatnot. Just shovelling them right into the burners and furnaces.
