Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.

Export is working now, but wait before you start using it. I may have to alter it a little before it's ready to work well with Import. The tough bit is how I'm going to preserve the "goto 239822"-type responses. The problem being the numbers might change...

Is there going to be a Mac-version Shadyman?

if you can find a VB Compiler for Mac, or a Mac version of VB

is there a way to say certain responses only if the bots mood is a certain level? So it will actually act sad when it's sad and act happy when it's happy?

If not, are there plans to add this kind of feature?

22 years ago #1686
no, but I assume this may be coming with the new mood system

22 years ago #1687
I've thought about that. Each Response could have a range between -5 and +5 and would only come up if the mood was in that range.. the drawbacks are that it might spread responses so thin we could have a lot of repeating.

Is a number a noun?

22 years ago #1689
Anything that is the name of something is a noun, even if that thing is an idea rather than a physical thing you could point at.

so that's a yes then?

Thanks

22 years ago #1691
Oh, whoops. Yes, that's a yes.

I'm not sure WordNet has numbers in it, though. I seem to remember looking for one once but not seeing it. Perhaps because it could go on and on and on.

Numbers can be pronouns, too, as in "I'll have seven." (seven referring to, say, "seven popsicles".)

22 years ago #1693
That would be an adjective, not a pronoun.

Talk to my bots! The grand parents are there and the oldest girl is! I am making a family!
