Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

"HANGUP" means the bot is tired of talking to you. This happens when it fails to understand what you've said 5-6 times in short succession. The window is supposed to close but that doesnt work in Debug.

I was more concerned about her not understanding compound sentences. She still refuses to understand the sentence I described, and I just can't see why. I'm sure I'll work it out.

Melody, sometimes that happens when the ranking is not high enough. When there are a bunch of words in front of whatever your bot is supposed to respond to, it may not see it if the rank is low.

She's a doctor now though, and she's not responding appropriately to just "why not?" by itself, and there's keyphrases for why not, why and not. I put this in bug stomp too, and I gather other people are having the same problem, so at least it's just not me . However, even though I'm a new convert I have ultimate faith in PF.

BD meant the rank of the phrase, not nessacarily your bots rank.

Ah... ok I played with the rankings to test that. I even put some up really high to see if that would help, no luck

it takes a little while to get the hang of adjusting those, try also putting a few phrases at much lower ranks to see if that helps any at all.
