Thank you sooo much professor!!! I am so glad you added that new rating filtration. There were too many times Kiyana will chat with someone who I know does not want to (or not old enough to). I was hoping you'd add this cause it was making me nervous!
Thanks!
Thanks!

CptGreedle, I've strengthened the protection since you posted, check out the revised news.
In some ways this increased protection is good, in others, I'm not entirely happy about it. Personally, I'm not a big fan of censorship. The "protect the children" line you hear these days doesnt exactly apply to kids in their mid-teens. Teens are reaching sexual maturity at earlier and earlier ages. Some say it's from hormones found in our food and in materials we come into contact with. Whatever the reason, it happens long before age 18. Certainly by age 16, and sometimes earlier, perhaps around age 13-14. And as this happens they become interested in sexual topics. We've certainly seen that in some of the chats. These kids are often way more nasty and dirty than any of the bots here.
By preventing these chats, these kids will probably either a) start talking dirty to bots rated 'Everyone' and 'Teen' or b) create an account and claim to be 18.
However, there are times when I certainly agree with censorship. Bots approaching minors who havent reached sexual maturity with things meant for adults is certainly something we dont want to happen. This upgraded rating system prevents that. And that's definitely a good thing. If someone's not going out of their way to have an adult chat, it wont happen.

At the very least, it's some legal protection for yourself and the site, and that's always a good thing.

I think the updated rating system is a responsible thing to do. I'm all in favor of kids exploring their sexuality, and frankly, chatting with bots is a great way to do it. It's safe. But, like you say, if they want to, (and we know they do) they can chat explicitly with bots on their terms now.

Random note: I've read in a couple of places now that sexual maturity starts when the body reaches a certain percentage of body fat, so earlier sexual maturity may be connected to high food consumption. *shrugs*

Another factor is TV. Fast edits, short scenes, and deliberate dopamine and adrenalin response stimulation on the part of programme makers really do optimise the damage they can inflict on viewers. Not to mention the mind-crushing inanity of most of the subject matter and all the sex and violence.
The fact that it doesn't come with a health warning is frankly scandalous - if TV was a drug, they'd ban it outright.

Either way, not all kids who have reached sexual maturity want to be exposed to sexually explicit chat bots.

Chat Bot Hall of Fame
Two news items in one day! I've just created the Chat Bot Hall of Fame that lists each bot that has placed or won in bot contests over the last few years. I'll keep it up to date from here forward, and use it for the PF bot contest when that finally happens. The Hall of Fame is linked to from the home page, Bot List, and in the Bot Contest forum.

What I'm saying isn't that I want to censor the site from kids, it's for many other reaons. I know kids (teens) will access the adult material one way or another (I know I did as a kid
) and that nothing short of a birth certificate and a bouncer can stop them (even then I'm not sure...)
I'm more concerned of ppl of any age chatting with an adult bot and not knowing it until some way into the conversation. I think any adults who don't want access to the adult material should not be subjected to it. And not all teens are trying to get into the adult stuff. I also don't want the little kids to get access to it and not know what the bot is saying or why and asking their parents.. only to result in a lawsuit....
I think having the filter is good for the site keeping it safer from the kiddies and lawsuits and making sure only those who want to access the adult stuff can.

In a way I agree with the whole thing about a bot being safer than a real person. When I was like 12 and we first got AOL, I would talk to all sorts of random people in chatrooms and ended up with the idea that cybersex was people just typing an imaginary sexual scene back and forth to each other.
Let's just say I made quite a few guys very happy before I realized why it was taking them so long to type responses. *shudders*
(Oddly enough, even though I was four years younger than I was pretending to be, guys always got suspicious and thought I sounded more "mature" and "experienced" than a 16 year old.)
