A common misconception about faith is that it has to fly in the face of reason.

Well I don't really care one way or the other. If he exists then good and if he doesn't oh well. I'm not going to spend my time worrying if I'm being good enough to get into heaven or if I somehow pissed God off. I'm not saying he doesn't exist, in fact, I prefer to believe he does, but I'm not going to be all religious and stuff when religions try to tell you how to live your life.

Man you drunks are getting way too philosophical. Everyone needs to sober up or get more pissed. Possibly both. On that note, how about a round of Contradictory Inebriations for all here. And make sure you don't go light on the tequila. Or the starch.

I better not. You see what happened to the platypus.
Really though, faith makes very little difference to me. I am not Tinkerbell, and I do not need you to clap your hands.

Daedalus,
It's one thing not to let world religions tell you how to live your life. But if God exists, don't you think maybe He has the right to do so? He created you, after all.
But there's no reason for you to worry about whether you are good enough to get into Heaven, because I can tell you right now: You aren't. In order to actually be good enough for Heaven, you would have to be perfect. Why? Because God is absolutely holy and righteous. He cannot and will not tolerate sin. There's a verse that says His eyes are to pure to look on sin, but I don't have my Bible handy. It's in the minor prophets. #0001 Alpha, can you do a word search for me?
Anyway, I do remember the verse that says we are to, "Be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect." (I don't remember the reference, but it's in the Gospels.) Also, "He who keeps the whole law, and yet offends in one point, he is guilty of all." Okay, so I don't remember any references. I'll get them later if anyone wants them.
To get to the point: "The wages of sin is death." This is not just physical death, but eternal separation from God in Hell. Just one sin is enough to condemn you. If you were to live a perfect life from this point on, God would still be just in sentencing you to Hell.
I could go on, but that's enough stones in the pond for one post.
