I think it's a pretty useless feature because a normal conversation, I just got a long page filled with 'why'? I kind of wish it had kicked in about the tenth time.

Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.
What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not ...but how can you make a HANGUP Response work with a seek command. I tried 'xnomatch', but the program ignores it as if there was no seek command. Does anyone know how to fix this?

HANGUP, can't be part of a seek or a phrase. you have to just have it as the only response to a keyphrase. then you just type HANGUP

You could have HANGUP as the response on a seek, if you want. I don't know of any reason why that wouldn't work...except that I've been seeing a lot of missed seeks in my transcripts lately.

Start with the xnone keyphrases. Try to come up with some more interesting things for the bot to say when it doesn't understand things, cos xnones are what tend to be used.
Then start with some basic keyphrases, like "yes" "no" and "who" "what" "why" etc phrases so your bot can answer basic questions. Extend that out to more specific ones like "who is" "why are" "why did" etc. When your bot asks questions (perhaps in xnones) start using a few seeks to cover possible answers to those questions. It's sort of like you script the conversation beforehand, and the more possibilities you anticipate, the better the result will be.
Be patient. A little at a time. You'll never cover every possibility, but it's surprising how even a small bot can have coherent conversations at least some of the time.

Make sure each keyphrase has at least four responses, six is better. Keep adding your bot will grow. The more you work on your bot the more time they spen logged in.
