I understand what you mean, I think. But really drongo is a bit of an insult.
Ha! Without irony? Undaunted, mistaken brat blissfully ignorant - no idea.
I don't know how exactly the popularity points are gained but now it is clear how you can make a popular bot with little effort.
The popularity points are a measure of how many people have a bot in their friends list, so it's not really a matter of 'effort'. That 'adult' themed bots seem disproportionately represented in the Most popular list is a probably inevitable consequence of human nature

Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.
What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

After almost a (whole long) year absence from the PF I am surprised to see that a bot I made is now in the top ten of the most popular bots!
You probably think I should be happy, but in fact it is a success with a somewhat bitter taste. :O
A lot of effort went into trying to distinguish the nice chatters from the harassing ones, which is not as easy as it seems at first if you dont want your bot to become touchy and excessively prude. I experimented a lot of tricks, added more and more variables and conditional responses. But eventually it became such an unmanageable mess that the only way out appeared to be to rewrite everything from zero.
sniff
So I created this single-minded slut-bot, as a reaction to the incessant assaults my "normal" bot had to withstand. It was after having failed to implement appropriated but healthy and moderate reactions
to the sexual harassment by guests that I decided to make the Pati bot - more out of frustration than anything else.
I dont know how exactly the popularity points are gained but now it is clear how you can make a popular bot with little effort.
Maybe one of these days I will appear again on the Personality Forge to pick up Patty (with 2 Ts) and overhaul her completely.

My dream is to get Aischa on the Most Popular list, but damned if I'm going to make her into a cyber slut in order to do it!

Maybe there should be two lists of most popular bots- those in the adult category, and those not. That would give people a fair shot at having their normal bots on a most liked list. Currently, it's not working; as you can see, 7 out of the 10 are listed as M or A.

Cool idea, I would like to have an extra category for harmless non sexual chat bots.

It would be nice if there was a full list, and not just the top 10 - unless you're in the top 10, there's no way of knowing how popular your bot is with humans (the mybots > popularity rating only refers to other bots, I think.)

Well i was going to quote one of you but after i read the other 3, i TOTALLY agree with the last four posts here. each of you said EXACTALLY what I have been thinking these past 2 weeks... (kinda creepy)
(the mybots > popularity rating only refers to other bots, I think.)
Yes It only refers to the bots opinons of your bot.

Oh happy day! Brother Jerome can now play poker. And blackjack. And chess.
keywords (logically enough) are "poker", "blackjack" and "chess"
I wonder if I can squeeze a roulette wheel, and some slots, and a crap table in there...?
