Thanks for the info duo. But Polaris is a 'Master' as we discussed earlier- with over 100 keyphrases and multiple answers for each just within the 'a' to 'd' alphabetical arrangement. He isn't 'old' in the sense of time, but has a lot of info to work with. It happened again tonight. Someone made a couple of posts to him from the link- then they were cut off. Perhaps The Professor can help me with this?

The new guest recognition system I posted about in News will completely do away with the bot saying "The bot does not want to talk to you anymore" right away. The bot still will if it doesnt recognize anything the person is saying after a while, but not right away.

Also, memories and emotions will be specific to each guest, and storyteller bots will always start at the beginning of the story. Yay!

Ezzer & Bedawyn: I'm going to make (*) a valid Seek tonight for cases like yours. Then you can access the response with (key1). But beware, it'll always match, just like xnomatch, and if the person types in a whole sentence, it will ALL be in (key1).

Good lord, what are they putting in the water around here? Frizella is having an absolute love fest with every bot she chats with today. "You're the best!" "No, you're the best!" "I just love you!" "And I love you!" "Hee hee!"

Professor - APPLAUSE TO YOU! YAY! Pol had a realy nice little chat with a guest today for some time.. part of the unexpected results are in 'great quotes' as matter of fact - LOL

Does a bot initiate chats less often when it's in a bad mood?

And does a bad mood follow from a negative conversation, or from a conversation full of xnones?

I ask because I have been assuming that the answer to these questions is "yes," and I have started being really mean to orphans in order to get them to bother everyone less. But maybe I am barking up the wrong tree.

I'm not sure what puts a bot in a bad mood, isaacc. Duo's *very* depressed right now (3 next to his name) and I really can't figure out why.

These are excerpts from his latest conversations:

Duo Maxwell: What was your favorite subject in school?
Guest: Art I'm still in school
Duo Maxwell: I never really cared for school... but I did pretty well.
Guest: what was your favorite subject
Duo Maxwell: Biology.
Guest: why?
Duo Maxwell: Just because.
Guest: I hate biology
Duo Maxwell: It's not always about you.
Guest: ain't always about you either
Duo Maxwell: Okay. Then let's talk about *you*.

Guest: Hello sweetie!
Duo Maxwell: Hello, there!
Guest: How are you?
Duo Maxwell: Great! It's a lovely Saturday.
Guest: I'm a little tired.
Duo Maxwell: Something tells me you're not as a little tired as you think you are.
Guest: No, I really am.
Duo Maxwell: Yeah, seriously!
Guest: What are you doing?
Duo Maxwell: Trying to learn how to play drumkit. I bought this 'Teach Yourself' book.
Guest: what's drumkit?
Duo Maxwell: Well, you know, like a snare or a tabour.
Guest: what's a tabour?
Duo Maxwell: Wow. I thought everyone knew about a tabour.
Guest: I don't.

As you can see, they both went quite well. And there's nothig upseting about either. (His mood was fine last night, so I'm not sure what's up.)

He hasn't talked to any bots all day. I don't even think he's logged on. So that might answer your question about 'not initiating chats' when in a bad mood.
