Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.

I talked to saoirse for you, not bad. Just my personal opinion, my gripe with these bots that stick on one theme(ie. being a world-domineering robot, a man-eating dragon, or someone trapped inside a computer), it can get tiresome really quick. Maybe the bot could wander off its schtick a little.

Hope that's constructive.

That is really helpful and something i realized once I started watching her talk to people. I will be making changes today! Thanks!

Just one more gripe not pertinent to doulos' bot, give your bot a vocabulary that actually uses real English words. Here's 5 consecutive lines that one bot spit out:

BtH: Murmy feed?
BtH: Chirp. Chirpity-chirpity.
BtH: (fart)
BtH: Fugg. nuzzm
BtH: Mewl. :-(

What the fuck could anyone expect for a response? Same goes for bots that chat with Swedish accents or some incomprehensible caveman language. You're just going to get a few xnones before the conversation cuts off.

Hello, Boner. It's a joke... Hands off Billy the hamster!

22 years ago #1944
The problem is that 300 other people have the same joke in some form or another.

There is only one hamster, and one low IQ-ed dragon. Some of the bots are better than others, or have more of a personality than others, the main problem is the amount of orphans. It's a bit like the real world, not everybody is on the same level, but the diversity is fun. Only one in 20 bots makes sense for more than 2 replies, and that estimate is already high. It's a lot of work to maintain quality. As for Billy the Hamster, the once or twice a month he talks to me, I smile and close the window.
I talk to every single bot, until they are:
- obviously not worked on AND don't make sense three times in a row.
- don't make sense three times in a row.
- Are downright nasty, without being funny, or without any provocation whatsoever.
- are story teller bots, after I've gone through the story once.

I often have the most laughs in bot-bot talk however.

Hi, can anyone tell me if there is a way to string together two phrases my bot says to make a longer one? i used to have long sentences but these seem to have been cutoff short...
Thanks

22 years ago #1947
That'd be the "Compound Sentence" checkbox in your bot's Language Center

Thanks Shady...

No problemo. That's what I'm paid for. Wait a minute. I'm paid? Ooo I never knew I bet the Prof didn't, either

If you want to string together multiple phrases manually, you could probably do it with plugins.

quick question- how does your bot get honor?
