I just finished refactoring the AI Engine this weekend to improve its stability. In the process I fixed some minor issues, and also solved a problem where the server would be unavailable for little 5 second intervals here and there. Onwards and upwards!

The Personality Forge will go head-to-head with humanity in our new Turing Test Booth that will be part of the "State of Mind: A Consciousness Expo" on June 30th in Brighton, England. The expo is organized by The Sackler Centre for Consciousness Science, and we've been working together to get everything ready. It's now ready for action. After the expo, I'll be opening it up as an ongoing exhibit on the Forge. Details here

I've changed the Language Center to sort by the first alphanumeric character in the Keyphrase. That means Keyphrase starting with "(do|" are are on the same page as Keyphrases starting with "do". There is no longer a "(" category.

The State of Mind Consciousness Expo was a great success! 101 visitors participated in the Turing Test with Bildgesmythe, who was selected as the human 34% of the time, passing Turing's benchmark for intelligent behavior. I've now opened up the Turing Test Booth I created for the State of Mind Expo to everyone. A test requires two people - one person manning the booth (as "the human") and another to participate in the test to decide who he/she thinks the human is. If you want to see how your own bot does, open up and man a booth with your bot! It's now part of the main navigation to the left. Enjoy!

I've add the ability to search the titles and contents of shared plugins to make it easier to see if there's something you're looking for. You'll find the search box on the Plug-Ins page.

In other news, I've got the Combined Bot Template down to 17,000 keyphrases from its original 36,000. Plenty more to do before it's ready for general use, but I'm making steady progress. : )

Continued work on the Combined Bot Template has sparked a ton of new ideas - Keyphrase Macros, Keyword Macros, A Topic/Emotion Mind Map linked to topic-based responses that can cover every category, 3rd Person Action Keyphrases, Template Overlays that you can subscribe to, getting updates and improvements to imported Language Center's Keyphrases as they arrive, new kinds of Wildcards, and more. All this will be part of an enormous upgrade to the AI Engine that will empower bot-building tremendously. Now all I have to do is come up with the time to do it all!

The new Chat Bot API lets our chat bots run free! This new web service allows developers to integrate chat bots into any project you can imagine - web applications, desktop applications, mobile apps, text messages, chat networks, and even robots or toys! There are monthly subscriptions available for all levels of use. Contact me with any questions or requests for customization.

I just completed a second Chat Bot API option for those requiring a simpler interface. Now one can use either The Secure API or The Simple API to interface with their chat bots in outside systems. I've also added a bot setting called "Run Free" which makes your bots available to developers using these APIs. Turn it on and your bot might just appear in an app, game, web site, or robot!

After working on it for 6 months, I've completed the first run of the Combined Bot Template. The size at this point is just over 13,000 Keyphrases. The second run should reduce it and make it more powerful and efficient. The new macros will increase the reach of Keyphrases incredibly, and there will be a system to guide you through these Keyphrases in smaller chunks based on their reach.

I've just increased the capacity of the API subscriptions by 750%. The free account now provides 5,000 messages per month rather than 500, and the $20 tier now provides 30,000 per month rather than 4,000. The rest are increased similarly. I've changed the Hurricane option to an "unlimited" account that provides a dedicated server.
