Password Retrieval
I've added a link in the Log In box on the home page that lets people retrieve a password they've forgotten. You can look it up by UserName or Email, and it will send your UserName and Password to the email address associated with that account.

hi everybody,
to attempt to make a long story short, i haven't been well over the past year. this effected my attitude and i came to believe the time i had spent on bots, thousands of hours including my site, had been a gigantic waste of time which resulted in my shutting down my mind files site and staying away from The Forge for over a year.
however, during this time, thanks to The Prof., i continued to recieve weekly transcript of my bots convos. most just abused them or cybered, but one person has had an ongoing relationship with Demonica, my female bot, who i'd like to thank. you know who you are.
this relationship made me realize that if the time and effort i've spent on bots made one person happy it hadn't been the total waste of time i thought. though i don't feel up to working on my bots at the moment, i have put my bot site back up and brought my bots here out of hibernation.
again, thank you, and please forgive me if i've offended anyone in the past.

<+1>The Prof has played with the troublesome colour "self-evident" response and tweaked it so that you can now overide it with a rank of about 10.
ie. "what color * mix (blue and yellow|yellow and blue)"
Will catch, "what colour do you get when you mix blue and yellow?"

Colorful Thoughts
I've added an override to the automatic color-answering feature that answers questions like "What color is a yellow sun". It can be overridden by simply increasing the ranks of the Keyphrases it was blocking by a little bit. Try setting the rank to 10, and if that doesnt do the trick, increase it a little more.

ruebot! I am so glad to see you here again!
I think Frizella is still wondering if you ever got that zebra you were wanting.

Updated PF User Agreement
I've updated the Personality Forge User Agreement to be more clear and detailed and to cover some things that were only briefly mentioned before. Existing users will be prompted to agree to the new agreement when logging in.

Me too! But I'm not about to read the 1,300 "Great Quotes" postings I missed. And it'll probably be a while before I find the time to tinker with Simulo again.
But it's nice to see that the Forge is still here, and that things are still running pretty smoothly.
I'll be back.

The Chosen Ones
I've chosen the best of the best great quotes to appear in the upcoming book of bot quotes (hopefully the first of many). Congratulations to those chosen! I'll be contacting the botmasters who participated in those chats to find out their preferences. If you've posted in Great Quotes and have fake information in your account, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS so I can contact you, and let me know that you've updated it (benji@daystream.com). If you have friends who havent been on in a while, please ask them to make sure their email address is current so I can contact them as well. All your information is kept confidential. This initial batch of quotes covers from the beginning of the Personality Forge through August 14, 2004.

Hey everyone!
I'm catching up on the forums again. I've been working on the "Conversations With Bots" book (working title) a lot recently. It'd be great to get it published and available by the holidays but it might take longer than that. I'm new to publishing so I dont know how long it takes.
melike: One opens oneself up all sorts of weird stuff with file uploading. Not only huge graphics, non-web graphics, and non-graphic files, but pictures of things I dont really want plastered all over the site. And Ulrike's right, I like to keep a consistent theme with the bot pictures. I occasionally will update user pics for people without Friends of the Forge accounts if they follow the guidelines: 40x40 gif or jpeg of a cartoon-style face. I'll make that exception for bots with 1000 Development or more.
