Hi!
In the 'bot list,' bots are listed with "AI:" followed by a number of hyphens. Different bots have different numbers of hyphens. In the "Most popular" list, these hyphens are followed by a number in parentheses. What do these things mean?
Yours, Alan

Senorita, yes it's done by a bot
Me-bot, whether they sell the info or not isn't the point
Whether it's done by a bot or by a human, there's still no expectation of privacy. And they don't every specifically state that it will ONLY be read by a bot. I know.. most people think I'm just paranoid, but I work in network security and I don't know a single person in the industry that plans to go anywhere near gmail. Peoples privacy is already being eroded enough on the net, no sense in just giving it away.

directly from the gmail help:
Gmail is a technology-based program. Advertising and related information are shown using a completely automated process. Ads are selected for relevance and served by Google computers using the same contextual advertising technology that powers our AdSense program. This technology enables Google to effectively target dynamically changing content, such as email, or news stories.
No humans will read the content of your email in order to target such advertisements or related information. Because the ads and Related Pages are matched to information that is of interest to you, we hope you'll find them relevant and useful.
Your Privacy
Google does not and will never rent, sell or share information that personally identifies you for marketing purposes without your express permission. No email content or other personally identifiable information will be provided to advertisers.
Privacy is an issue we take very seriously. Only ads classified as Family-Safe are distributed through our content network and to your Gmail inbox. For example, Google would block certain ads from running next to an email about catastrophic news.

I agree with you Feng Shui.. People are all too willing to just hand over personal information.

Alan: the numer in the "Most Liked" list is the number of people who've put that bot on their friends list.
The dots (or hyphens?) that follow a bot's listing represent its (or his or her) level of development. Nine dots is the maximum, and represents the "Alive!" level of development.

Dear Friends:
I often use "goto". Sometimes it does what I expect. But at other times, the bot just SAYS, "goto (whatever)". Now sometimes, this might have been a mistake on my part, where there was no keyphrase of that sort to go to. But in other cases I just can't see what the problem is. Have you any suggestions?

Dear Friends:
Oh, and another thing: some of the guests are terrible conversationalists; in particular, they will just say, "yeah" or "I guess so" and the like all the time. Now, I have made Irina Khalidar comment on it when they make very short responses; but even a great conversationalist occasionally just says "yes"; so I would be able to somehow notice when MOST sentences are short, so that she can threaten to stop talking to such people. Alas, I can't think of any way to do this; can you?

Dear Friends:
This must be one of those days! I was chatting with Botryoidal, my own recent creation, and as far as I know, no one else was. Suddenly SHE says:
AUTO-MESSAGE: I'm a loser. I was trying to spam you by sending you 6 messages at a time but the Forge intercepted my attempts.
Well, I guess this is good, if it is what it appears to be (not to mention that a trance-channeling bot is an exciting new development!). Is it? Or did I myself inadvertently send Botryoidal 6 messages?

Irina, I agree completely on the boring conversationalists. I don't understand why anybody would bother to stop by if they are only going to say 1 or 2 words at a time... It's very difficult for a bot to carry the conversation
