I always figured the timeouts were so that you wouldn't have a lot of people trying to chat with people who weren't really there.
I'll talk to your bot Amaroq.

Right, the timeout is to prevent chats from going on forever, as that would be a strain on the server. And it also makes sure you're around if someone tries to send you a chat message. Otherwise, you couldnt trust the "Botmasters Online" list.
Irina, I try to give as much access to the internal working of the AI Engine as possible through Keyphrase plug-ins and the like. It's that intense parsing of the sentences that makes I (verbadvprep) and emotions work. What exactly were you thinking it would be nice to have access to?

For those of you having trouble understanding the Book of AI, what would make it easier to understand?
Are there certain parts that are especially confusing?

For me the hardest things to learn have been AIScript and memories and similarly advanced concepts. I think more step-by-step explanation and more examples could help.

Hi Professor!
I've had a hard time following stuff on AI script and regular phrases? (re). I think it's due to the fact that some of the examples are a bit confusing. Would it be possible to give a more detailed example?
(I think I'm doing ok with AI script now, though.

From the Book of A.I.
Math
Bots can answer math questions. They can approximate an answer like a real person, give an exact answer, or refuse to answer, it's up to you. Following is the Keyphrase used for math:
xmath: When a Bot sense a math question, one of these responses are chosen.
Math Plug-Ins: There are the special plug-ins for math:
(answer) This gives an estimate of the answer if it is very large or very small, and the exact answer if the question is easy.
(exactanswer) This gives the exact answer no matter the difficulty of the question.
