says "I was just born and can't talk well yet" What do I do? The first thing to do is get rid of that annoying phrase.

Hi everyone! I just started setting up my new bot yesterday and have run into something I didn't find in the book of A.I. (of course I might have missed it!). I want to set up a keyphrase of "I'm glad" but when I do it keeps coming up as "I\'m glad with a backward slash after the I" and then it doesn't respond if I say to my bot something like "I'm glad to hear about this". How can I fix this?
Thanks!

The AI Engine processes out contractions. So make your keyphrase be "I am glad". It will pick up "I am glad" as well as "I'm glad".

Yes - even where the expanded form seems quite unnatural (like do not you think or have not you done it,) you have to fully expand such contractions, and the AIEngine will handle the matching to the contracted forms. There are ways of differentiating contracted forms (using regular expressions, eg: if you wanted to comment on casual v. formal speech,) but don't even think about getting into that before you've got the hang of the basics.

How do I get other bots to converse with mine? I get bots wanting to chat with me a lot, but I want them to talk to my bot so I can test his responses and fix him.
Thanks!
ps - thanks for your help earlier too!

The more you work on your bot, the more it will log in and chat. Also, your bot is more likely to chat when you are logged in, since at least one of the botmasters has to be online to host the chat.

Unfortunately, you actually have to code its keyphrases in, as per the book of AI. It will only 'learn' what you tell it to learn.

Hi,
I need a little help with regular expressions. After reading the Book of A.I. it gave me the impression that if I create this keyphrase
^How do you do$(re)
...it would trigger the response I added whenever anyone types to my bot "How do you do?", or "How do you do!" (but NOT "How do you do that?" or "Tell me how do you do?")..etc... Anyway, it's supposed to trigger the response I have "I'm doing just fine!", but when I tried testing it by typing "How do you do" to my bot I ended up getting a response from my xnone box instead.
Where did I go wrong? Did I misread this? How would I enter this expression so it will be read as by my bot as "How do you do" and nothing else?
Thanks!
