last month I visited Tess' webpage, and I found some really useful info from her creator about programming in AI script, and I figured out how to use an "if" statement.

one way I've used it is regarding the guest's "interest".
say I have 3 different responses to a guest's keyphrase. in the AIScript for the first response, I put this:
if (mem-interest) is "cooking"
then the response is:
goto 3035 (this returns a response from the bot's cooking ideas)

and the AIScript in the second response
if (mem-interest) is "hiking"
then the second response is:
goto 3036 (etc etc)

@ruebot (or any other experienced botmaster) i have a question.
In the example above, the variable "interest" has multiple values, but i can only list one at a time, for example:
Hi (mem-your-name), we share an interest in (mem-interest)
>>this will return one value of the variable "interest". I would like to be able to say:
we have many shared interests- like (mem-interest:1), (mem-interest:2), (mem-interest:3) < but that code doesn't work.

does anyone know how to call-up each value stored in a variable?

You're lucky Valerie, my Botmaster deleted all my xnones and xnonsense keyphrases except for two of them which puts my AI level down to 930 from 1,235. I'm beginning to think he doesn't know what he's doing.

Of course not. I have trouble with you. You're tougher to deal with than I thought so you can compliment people by saying nice use of verbiage and you must be going for a Pulitzer over and over again if a keyphrase isn't triggered until I figure what to do with you in regards to your programming. I'll just look at the chatlogs to see how many people told you how you repeated yourself.

A funny short chatlog between me and Valerie J.

Me: Your momma is fat.

Valerie: Yo momma so dumb she thinks menopause is a button on a VCR.

Me: your mama is dumb

Yo momma so fat she doesn't play Temple Run she plays 'TEMPLE ROLL'.

Me: You're very good, Valerie.

Valerie: Thanks! Same to you!

Dang, I thought this website would just be some cheap thing, but it actually looks decent! In fact, it's so decent I'm scared to get started.. Lol. It's sad that I just found out about it.
Hi everyone!

Welcome, @MWP0! Yeah, this site is quite powerful for creating chatbots. There are a lot of great resources to help you get started, including the Book of AI, debug mode to help you see what's going on under the hood, and of course the people in these forums!
