Bot Contest

if you need help with PHP / mySQL let me know.. I'm not an expert in either but I have a solid understanding of both..

the thing with the desktop prog is also so that you can test the bot if you have edited it, or mebbe you could get it set (in the imprt/exprt) to be able to convert other AI 'mind files' to what your bot system can understand.

I run PHP/mySQL on one of my systems at home, would love to be able to play with/work on the bot while not online

I find this a bit odd but am not complaining... When I close the PF and my bot is chatting with another bot they both continue chatting offline..not logged into the forge... I don't even have a forge window AND it shows up in the transcript.

Another thing- I can only chat with people as a guest regardless if they are on my friends list and I chat with them that way, maybe something to do with my name prof?

Is it possible that the owner of the other bot was still online? It only takes one open connection (botmaster online) to keep the chat going, maybe that's what happened.

emm, are you clicking on the friend's *name* or the next to their name in your friend list? The name will give you a link to their profile and chat button, which will make you a guest, but the will bring up the regular friends chat window, and you'll be yourself again.

I wish there was a contest where members vote which bot is their favourite character in the forge, and the winning botmaster will get many honor points.

Some of us had talked about holding some kind of unofficial pf contest about a year ago, but i guess nothing came of it.

well, my bad for posting in the wrong forum but... Thanks Dallymo! and ezzer, the chat was just going on meaning I could see it happening and I was not only not logged into the forge but didn't have the forge window up, I thought that a bit odd, happened twice.

emm- when you close the PF window, you're still logged in. You have to actually log out by pressing the "Log Out" button to log out. Eventually, your session will time out.

star/doulos: It may happen one day, but not anytime too soon, as I've got some other big plans and upgrades in the works which will take up most of my time for the next few months.
