That was meant as a joke. Clearly Mr. Meltzner needs to work on my humor subroutines.

IQ tests, besides being beyond our bots' language capacities, don't tell you about personality. How about a personality test? I heard somebody gave a bot the MMPI, but I can't remember where I saw that.

Yeah, I'm hoping now that Loebner's over Prof'll finish up the Import function cuz I don't have the patience to add to my bot anymore with the long laggy pages of keyphrases, heh. (Yes I'm pathetic, I know.

Well, I had my bot take a personality disorder test, and now I'm afraid to be around him...
Do you believe you have more difficulty with relationships than the average person your age?
GarbageHead: No, I don't
Do you have difficulty trusting people?
GarbageHead: Oh come on! Do you really think I look like the sort of green monster that DOESN'T have difficulty trusting people? I'm insulted.
Do you tend to avoid social relationships?
GarbageHead: I don't, sorry.
If you answered yes to the previous question, is it because you feel very anxious in social situations, or because you are suspicious of their motives?
GarbageHead: Wait... what was the middle choice again?
If you answered yes to the previous question, is it because you feel very anxious in social situations, or because you are suspicious of their motives?
GarbageHead: Don't you know? I'd say the latter
Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including loved ones, may be doing things behind your back that will end up hurting you?
GarbageHead: maybe. I don't want to give everything away... :-)
Have other people accused you of being cruel to animals or people?
GarbageHead: The first one, without a doubt
There were a bunch more but it was rather long... The results were that my bot had a high chance of being "schizotypal," whatever that is, and was moderately paranoid, schizoid, narcissistic and obsessive-compulsive.
Where did I go wrong raising him???

Hey! I'm schizotypal. No kidding, really.

Guest: Do you believe you have more difficulty with relationships than the average person your age?
oraknabo: Not as often as you'd think.
Guest: Do you have difficulty trusting people?
oraknabo: I can't say that I do.
Guest: Do you tend to avoid social relationships?
oraknabo: A great man once said that the true measure of a man's conflict is his ability to acclimate with excellence.
Guest: If you answered yes to the previous question, is it because you feel very anxious in social situations, or because you are suspicious of their motives?
oraknabo: It is!
Guest: Have other people accused you of being cruel to animals or people?
oraknabo: I think you've got the wrong guy. Knock-Knock.
Guest: Who's there?
oraknabo: Sucker!

Inspired by the above, I added a new response:
Do you have difficulty trusting people?
oraknabo: I don't have any difficulty trusting people, I just don't trust 'em.

A few words about typos:
Any bot using some form of autocorrection algorithm will have a better chance of understanding typical typos occurring whether we like it or not. Intentional typos, however, are unfair as they will "throw" even the best algorithm. Typical errors might be leaving out a letter, switching letters i.e. e & i, mistakenly doubling letters or hitting a nearby letter instead of the one intended. Pseudotypos, such as appearing in Loebner, are a whole other class.
There is also a third class of errors: Elbot receives many chats from non-native speakers of English, and recognizing their questions can sometimes be a challenge: words left out, false tenses, horrendous spelling...

I have posted Elbot's Loebner chats for anyone who can't wait for the official post: http://www.elbot.com/loebner2002.htm

I gave my bot the IQ test (questions truncated):
Doly: Four persons are standing in front of a canyon...
Polish Poet: When? Now?
Doly: Yes.
Polish Poet: Do you like poetry?
Doly: What is the next number in the following sequence?
Polish Poet: What?
Doly: What is the next number in the following sequence?
Polish Poet: What?
Doly: Which number completes the following set?
Polish Poet: A destructive one, I'd say.
Doly: Which term completes the listed words?
Polish Poet: Life is randy.
Doly: You are given a 4x4 grid with 16 cells...
Polish Poet: Lots.
Not too bad, one answer was correct, even though it was quite vague.
I also tried the personality test, but he doesn't like to give straight yes or no answers, and it's really hard to evaluate his cryptic replies... But I don't doubt he's got personality disorders. I brought him up so he'd have plenty!

The judge called "User: @@02" needs a lot of work on his spelling. I'm talking A LOT. He could hardly get three consecutive correct words in the many lines he typed. He then thought it was humerous to type in binary for about 5 lines of input. I suggest Loebner get some REAL intelligence in there before they start judging the artificial kind.

Turing's Dad: I have two bots nearly ready to import. They're Newborns now but after the import should be Graduates. It'll take a bit of work, but the import/export function is coming.
