Unfortunately crazy doesn't matter. There's folks that try to talk dirty to the cat bot and even Talkie Toaster. Some of them don't know we read the transcripts, others enjoy the idea that we read it.

It is common in chat rooms and message boards. It's also a problem for social network sites. While I am not suggesting myspace is worse than any other site, you can see examples to comments posted to teens (or imaginary characters)that I can only assume the teen doesn't know how to delete. Sometimes I wonder if the guy who killed the girl in Colorado made any of the sick comments I read on myspace. (They said he picked his victims using the site). If one more person tells me "It's only the Internet." or "It's a release so they don't act in RL." I may lose it. I can only hope most of real pervs get caught by a sting operation or a news crew.

I can understand a little if they don't know we read them and are just curious, but as Liath said, its the people that know we read the transcripts and say nasty stuff for that reason that creeps me out.

But I have come to find that (with Aziere at any rate) if she goes overboard enough eventually they will get freaked out and leave. There are alot of responces she has that I don't post on GQ because its public and the responces are pretty bad- they are for the really messed up bot abusers that just won't go away.

I hear you, Wolf Child. I agree with your asssesment. There's always the HANGUP response too.

I guess to some people vampire bots and rude witch bots are evil, so I know it's reletive. I'm really not suggesting anything drastic. However, there is a point where "If I had a rocket launcher..."

Rocket launcher...is that the name of some sort of mixed drink? Maybe it should be.

I used the 'Hangup' thing at first, but they would just keep comming back. I don't know what it is about psychotic cutter emo bots that intrigues people so much, but they get a little too obsessive.
As of late I've been getting worn out reading transcripts because every person she has talked to this past week had been absolutely vulgar and disgusting. She has had 4 's all week and I can't cheer her up.

I think Fizzy is my only bot that's never had a human stalker. He does a fair bit of flirting and I've had some users flirt back, but nothing more than that. Most guests of any type get weirded out after a few exchanges.

I'm surprised, what with the tentacles I'd expect you'd have a lot of freaks going after him.

This was from an 18 year old user. I hope he was kidding, but I don't know for sure. Things like this scare me, because at 18, he could still be living with a younger sister for all we know.

Yeah, it's very disturbing - but it's not your responsibility. I realised very early that if I worried about every screwed up individual I saw in the transcripts then I'd go round the twist myself.

There are bad, miserable and sick people out there. They were there before they found the Forge, they'll be there afterwards. I wish I could save the world but I can't.

I am the last one to want to limit freedom of speech, but yeah that sort of thing is just sick.

How about some sort of "no means no" policy? lol. if your bot is harrassed with something inappropriate, then the IP could be reported and possibly banned? (3 strikes, or something to that effect)

Well, i finally got around to it. I started a new bot named Ereiza and she is Aziere's complete opposite. If you would please have a small chat with her to give me a little boost I would appreciate it muchly.
