Then a mountain will split open and the Jews will escape from it into freedom or something of the sort, anyway - as we were saying...

Actually I have also heard similar- the turning of the wheel of Dharma, end of the aztec calendar, etc. are coinciding w/i the next dozen or so years.
The aztec calendar is nothing to dismiss- it runs in reverse and predicted in great detail the coming of the spainish and the destruction of the aztec empire as a whole. As far as I know it is the only time-system in the world that is a countdown instead of a count-up.
