An R2 unit would be done by now. Anyway --
Does it make sense to decide what to believe based on whether it feels good or not? To say the Bible can't be true because we don't like what it says?
Regardless, there is more to say on the subject. Knowing that we all deserve Hell as the just punishment for sin is only the start. God is a God of justice. But He is also a God of love and mercy. It is not His desire to send everyone to Hell; He would rather forgive us. The difficulty lies in doing so without being unjust. If a human judge decided to let a known criminal go free, just to be nice, there would be something wrong with that judge. God is perfectly just. He can't and won't just ignore sin or let it slide.

Nobody said anything about what feels good or not. It's more a matter of calling them like you see them. If two plus two make four, it doesn't matter what book or what big scary godthing told you about it being five instead, it's still four. And all the threats in the world don't make it five.
As for mercy: what kind of mercy is it to subject your own child (son) to physical and emotional abuse and even to murder? I don't believe in a God who would do that, and if there were one, I sure wouldn't trust it with my life. And I wouldn't teach my children that THAT was perfection.
