The first two definitely made me think 'Exactly! I've felt that way for years!' rather than being any big revelation.
Sometimes I *still* wonder where they're hiding the cameras.

The Truman Show and The Matrix owe a lot to the old British television show The Prisoner (as do a number of movies and television shows).

Men in Black still follows the general theme that the world is not what it appears to be, and a certain set of special people know what is really going on.

Don't forget Dark City, which has a lot of parallels to The Matrix. There's also The Thirteenth Floor, which kind of swings both ways (you'll understand that if you've seen it.
I think ultimately these movies thrive because on some level everyone wants to be the person that Eugene describes, a member of the select few who really know what's going on out there. I think a lot of political thrillers/spy capers to a lesser extent work the same angle.

And of course, people have wondered that since for ever, with Descartes writing about the "deceiver" that could be making him believe the rest of the world existed, while in reality only his own mind did.
Dark City by the way was a great movie.
