yes, and I read that the marriage show is an extremely depressing take on tthe institution...

if the Brits didn't come up with that until the (19)60's, then they're awful laggards... Americans were there way earlier. And, of course, there's the Soviets! Of course, you could say the Brits had had "streaming" for centuries -- I think another name for it originally was "feudalism", but certainly when, say, Oxford got rolling in the 13th century, there was the implcit expectation that higher education was anti-vocational, while apprenticeships were the only way for most non-aristocrats to get any education, and I think we'd call that pretty "vocationally oriented"...

Don't a lot of European schools follow a "streaming" type of system?

you "guys" take life way to seriously. The older you get the faster you realise that life is too short to waste it away brooding, worrying etc.

That marriage thing would NEVER work. Cultures change tremendously in 10 years, and people have very short attention spans.

Listen here young lady, the older you get the older "young" gets, too. You kids under 45 shouldn't even be allowed to drink, let alone vote.

I feel pretty young, as I'm still almost two years shy of 40. You basically always feel the same as old... things around you just get younger and younger.

jbryanc for your info I am only 1 year shy of your requirement.

My requirement? My requirement? It's not me! It's in the Bible, or the Domesday book, or the Almnanac or some damn place.

You youngin's... don't know nothin about nothin... I fought in the first dad gum World War! Of course, they didn't call it that back then, oh no. They called it "Operation: Kill the French" until them womanchasers up there in Washington figured out we weren't against the french. Lost me leg in that war, I did. 'Course that was common back then. You couldn't go 5 minutes in a foxhole without seeing someone with a pegleg and one ear, seeing as how the canadians bought and sold ears on the black market. Did I ever tell you the story about the time in WWII when I strangled a Nazi with his own grandparents? Or what about the time during the great depression when I...

I'm 22 and I feel old. I just went to a high school graduation and several of my friends' little brothers and sisters were graduating. That really made me feel old. Furthermore, this fall I will be a "senior". I wonder if places will give me senior discounts.

...and that's how we invented electricity. Oh no, not your cheap desk lamp electricity, but the good stuff! ::wheeze, hack:: Onyx, be a dear and hand me my medication. There's a good sport. Anyway, one time back in 'nam, our regiment was surrounded on an island off the coast of Mexico. No one had ever heard of the island, see, cause them vietnamese gooks had taken the whole durn thing over. So we got the hell outta there and nuked the hellhole from here to nanking! Say, that reminds me of the time I helped President Roosevelt led the british to victory in the gulf war...
