I've seen Phantom of the Opera twice. Once in LA on choir tour and once when it was in Salt Lake. Loved it both times.
I was also lucky enough to see Les Miserables on Broadway.
That was when I went on the American Heritage Tour in high school.

Mortuus, try local colleges and universities. They often perform Shakespearean plays. Also, your community might have Shakespeare in the Park.

I went to one of those about two years ago...it was the most boring thing besides watching paint dry.

I saw a preview last night for a movie version of Phantom of the Opera. It looked pretty good- a huge production, good music. Could be good!

Yes, I can't wait until that comes out!
And has anyone seen the new Bridget Jones movie? Any film in which Colin Firth gets wet is a good film in my eyes. Not as good as the famous wet shirt scene in Pride and Prejudice but I'm not complaining.

hey, they are fun, at least the one we had in California was. I went with different groups of friends each time and it was always a good time. It's not like your going to get rollercoasters and cotton candy so you might need to lower your expectations a bit but all in all it's cool.

Ren fairs are fun if you slow your inner pace down and really get into it (like in character/costume yourself, not just as a spectator/tourist type thing). When you see someone performing and start to leave, they notice.
But the last time I went to one, some friends of mine got decent, original poetry written about them and them *alone* for just a few bucks.
