This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

If "I think, therefore I am" is true, then I can't exist.

This is incredible. I actually got a good computer with a normal keyboard today. I'm awake, too. Now if I just had something to say.

Does anyone out there know Sign Language? I have an aunt and uncle who are deaf, and whenever I am around them I feel handicapped. They can talk to each other through closed windows, across crowded rooms, etc.

I speak fairly fluent American Sign Language. Well, I suppose it may have rusted over the last couple of years, but at least I DID at one point.

It's actually one of the easiest languages to learn, and a fun one to boot. Well, ASL anyway, I never much cared for Signed English.

I took ASL classes years ago to help with my job with disabled people, which was also years ago. Real rusty, though. A few weeks ago, I went to a choral concert with an excellent sign interpreter and understood many of the signs, but I can't call them to my own memory spontaneously when I need them.

I know A, C, D, Z, M, N, O from memory
I also know "name", and "toilet" in sign

Trust me, a middle finger is all you'll ever need.

Why is it no one ever thumbs their nose anymore? Aside from the fact that it's dangerous to do if you have a booger close to the surface.

Whenever someone says "How did you know that?", "Huh?", "How do you know?", "How did you do that?", etc, I respond by tapping the side of my nose. This rarely ceases to confuse and/or frighten that person.

especially when your nose is the size of a foot-long hot dog, in Kirby's case

Good god, you're right! You could start a tornado tapping that thing!

There's sometimes a good show on PBS that teaches sign language. I think it takes practice though. From watching one episode two years ago I still remember how to describe different family relations.
