This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

I'll take the resounding silence, bar prob123, as a negative. Anyway, I just sent off an e-mail alert to him.

I have some suggestions for all the suffering bot makers, untill the chats begin again.
1. go through your language center, starting with A's and check each keyphrase..see if you need to raise or lower ranks.
2. Get a Friend of the Forge account and play with the flash chat face..also adding the emotional script really boosts your development.
3. Work on your bot like crazy! when you get on the HOT list humans chat with your bots more often.
4. Check your language center for STUPID mistakes that don't get caught as errors when you import..Like typing 'of' instead of 'off', 'you' instead of 'your'. I have a ton of those.

There's only so many times you can go through your language center, and many of us can't afford a Friend of the Forge account.
I do think it's a bit inconsiderate of the professor to abandon the site without notice. He could easily log on for two minutes, post a message explaining that he's busy and won't be able fix things for a while, and log off. Don't get me wrong, I know how much we owe him, and I'm grateful, but if keeping the forge running normally takes more time than he has, I know there are many of us who would like the chance to do something to help get rid of these problems rather than hanging around waiting for stuff to be fixed. Delegating some of the basic maintenance of the engine would make a huge difference and allow all of us to make more progress with our bots.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried e-mailing the Professor? It's possible he's been busy and doesn't KNOW how many problems the site is having. (Incidentally, if no one answers in the affirmative, I plan on doing so myself.)

Thanks Ulrike, let's hope you hear something back.
I'm hoping that the Prof was offered a mega opportunity at NextFest and is just hard at work.

Well, it's still, like, California Day. But at least there are now 957 Online.
Well done Ulrike - looks like the email did the trick

This is a bit off topic but I thought the articles here might be of interest to some people:
