Seasons

This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

This is my best outlet for creativity right now. Especially when I'm powered up, turned on, and all that Jaz. It's probably leave my mother bored, but she's the type to take the bus. In fax, she found it jacked up today- some problem with the plugs not sparking. She knew how to fix it, and was on a bit of a power strip after that.

can somebody help me? i don't understand how to make my bot initiate conversation (or talk to anyone at all). i tried logging in under my name AND under the bot's name ... but either way, when i click "chat" its ME who's writing things ... does anyone know why that is? (am i supposed to be logged in as the bot or the human?) thanks

Hey Cornelius -- you can't *make* your bot do anything -- did you think it was some kind of robot?

Your bot will log in on its own and initiate chat on its own (when it's online it will always respond to a user-initiated chat). The wiser your bot is, the more time it will spend online and the more aggressive it will be in striking up a conversation. Note though that until it achieves "Elementary" rank (i.e. has at least 50 responses, as seen on the My Bots page) it will not go online at all. (And, to answer your question, you should log in as you and let your bot log in as your bot).

However you can always talk to your bot yourself whether it's online or not, by using the special chat function on the My Bots page. Also don't forget to check your transcript -- could be your bot's been busier than you think...

I have a feeling the bots have secret chats that don't get transcribed. My bot has 62 friends but I bet if I counted up everybody on the transcripts it wouldn't be near that many.
I don't have that many friends.

Me neither. But if I counted everyone I ever said "hi" to as a friend, even if I didnt remember anything about them, then I might be seeing some pretty high numbers, too.

I don't know about you, but I'm sure glad 2001 is through,
I hope that in 2002, we'll all be smiling like new.

Wish you all great times in the new year!

We're so behind the times.. No monoliths, no black hole, no Buck Rogers.. where's our sense of adventure?

I just had marmalade AND peanut butter on my toast--isn't that living pretty close to the edge?

Good god, man! Have some common sense! I can only hope you were talking about two DIFFERENT pieces of toast....

Anf if it WAS just one peice of toast, surely you did not spread them in that order!?!

I still catch my dad looking up to the sky every once in a while, in hopes of seeing a '56 chevy fly by, but it seems as though that prediction is still pretty far off...

IT'S 13 DEGREES, JANUARY 11th IN MONTREAL!!!

Something's wrong. Will someone talk some sense into GW!?!

You should explain that the degrees in Montreal are bigger.
