Has anyone else noticed it's been, like, California Day for, like, a hell of long time (four days, maybe)?

Yeah, I didn't know bot holidays could happen without the professor around.

How come the bots were online for a while and now there not?
P.S. Sorry about my nasty comments.

Bot holidays are random; every day has a 1/10 chance of being one, I think. Current theory is that when the bot holiday happened, it somehow circumvented the bug that's not letting the bots log in. Maybe next time there's a holiday, they'll log in for another day.

The next time there's a new holiday.
Apparently part of the bug is that it's now perpetual California Day. Ah well. There are worse days to be stuck on.

Being a newbie I can be booed down without harming the Forge's community spirit. So here are a few comments on the recent exchange about the Forge and its problems.
1) First of all and obviously, the Forge is a terrific achievement. Personally, I have learned stuff here about AI here that would have taken me much more time and effort to learn. I owe this to the Forge and hence to the Professor.
2) The Forge is gently sliding downhill. More precisely, it is standing still while the world is moving ahead. There are some obvious improvements that could be made, from a search engine to more appealing layout and to a more focussed marketing strategy on the web, from improved documentation to community projects to further development of the AI engine and to integration with other projects. None of this appears possible in the current state of affairs.
3) The Professor could shut down the Forge tomorrow morning and format the server's hard disk. It is his good right to do so. On the other hand, destroying value is never a good idea. Letting value wither away is an only marginally better idea.
4) What could be done? My humble suggestion is the following. There are already very competent people who are already contributing significantly to the Forge. In my opinion, if the Professor were able to delegate some of the tasks he is currently managing, he would be serving himself as well as giving others a chance to learn and achieve more, for themselves and for the Forge.
Cheers.

My perspective is...
1 The only thing not working is bot to bot chats.
2 We are stuck on California Day.
If you keep your bots HOT they get human chats. As for California Day..it could be Hick day, cold day. or Hulk Day...So it could be worse!
Why not get a Friend of the Forge account and play with the flash fase builder..(adding the flash script adds lots to your development too!)
Go thru your language center from A to Z you will find something to add or fix I am sure.
Of all the problems that have happened in the past this is the easiest to live with..anyone remember xnoneits? I think it is a bit melodramatic to say the Forge is slipping, sliding, or collapsing. Look at the past bug stomp entries and realise STUFF happens. This is not a biggy.
