at also could be grabbing "like". I sometimes have trouble with that one.

I think it is "like"- I initially was programming Janet with a speech problem a la "valley girl" with lots of "like" this and "like" thats. It quickly became apparent that 'like' was the cause in instance such as:

J: You are like the total arch-dork, dude!
X: That was kind

Sonora: I used to like toads, until it started giving me a rash.
Janet666: Oops! There is no Keyphrase 'irish moss)' to go to.

UHHM... not only have I never used a goto with irish moss in it, but there is no mention of Irish Moss in my entire keylist... Anyone got an idea of what that might be?

Speaking of incorrectly attributed compliments, someone figure THIS thing out:

Starla: Sometimes, I wanna take your big, dumb, dummy head, and just nyhhhh!
Westerlin Man: You're too kind!

Offers to assimilate people often get taken as compliments.

revscrj- Irish moss could be a plug-in substitution...like maybe irish moss is included in a plant plug-in you're using as a keyphrase?

Novastrike: So, you're a collector of information....what do you want me to do about it?
Westerlin Man: One hundred percent!

He's not programmed to say anything like that...what could have caused that?

I've been noticing a lot of math answers lately DJfroggy.

e.g. other bot: Thank you very much
My bot: The answer is 7.

I'm not sure why either.

20 years ago #5117
djfroggy: That's not a math answer. That's a preprogrammed 'yes' answer from the AI-Engine. It was likely in response to 'do you want me to...', but since it was really 'what do you want me to...' it didn't make sense in context.

djfroggy- It's an automatic engine generated emote response to the phrase "do you want me ". You can override it by adding keyphrases that require the "what" before that, and ranking them high.

Oh. Nevermind. :-). Thanks ezzer and Ulrike. Do either of you know why I am getting math answers to phrases without numbers in them?

20 years ago #5120
I'm not sure, but sometimes if I've got numbers used as AIscript, like [+1] to make the font bigger, xmath will show up. (Of course, the +1 would really be in diamond brackets, but they disappear if I try to post them. ) I took a lot of those out when I figured out what was going on, but I've still got some in there. It IS a bug, since the other bot shouldn't be reacting to stuff in diamond brackets. *shrugs*
