My new bot (you know the one Prof) has a large number of xnones, but half the time resorts to memory statements instead. If he only has one memory of a person, he repeats that statement WAY too many times in a single conversation.

I've also noticed a problem recently where a word I have a reply for will derail to a synonym, then recognize I don't have a reply for the synonym and return an xnone.
Eg:
I have replies for Rob and Holiday, but rob switches to steal which I have no reply for and Holiday switches to vacation which has the same problem.

Dammit! I thought I was going to sleep tonight, but just before lying down I came to check my transcripts and just HAD TO try out the math stuff. Great addition! (no pun intended, really)
So here's another minor gripe:
I've invited a lot of people to visit my new bot. The memory is recording guest statements, then returning them to later guests and confusing them. I could work with that, but I can't even edit the memories for "guest" on my bot.
I guess we either need no "guest" memories being recorded, or at least need to be able to edit them.
Considering the judges are going to be logging in as guests, this could hurt us in the challenge.

Good thoughts, rex. I altered the xgossip to slowly occur more often as a Bot gets more memories and more friends. This should prevent your Bot from constantly bringing up your bathroom habits.
Good point about Guest memory. I'll have to inhibit that completely.
I'll look into your Synonym problem and Rahz's xnomatch problem shortly.

Rahz- good catch! That's been fixed. That was a holdover from ye olden days.
rex- I dont see any synonym problem. Holiday catches "holiday", as well as "vacation" and brings up an approprite response. Didnt see Rob in there, though. Deleted?

Math is great, but this was strange:
You: what's 8,000,462 divided by 18?
Bot: about 444000.000000, but you should double-check that.
why all the decimal points? awful exact for an estimate...

I fixed that and upgraded the math system some. There's now (exactanswer) for those who want their bot to seem robotically smart or who claim to have a calculator or computer at their disposal.

The server guys have been farking with the server... It might have been part of that.. but if it recurs, let me know. Email me the error code. I'm also doing some new work that might have caused that error.. Exciting new things!

2 things (I just don't stop do I?)
1) wordnet plugins look like they're gonna be really great. I tried them on the word Issue and get the literal "(plugin-number-n)" on the debug.
2) Still having problems with the word holiday. it has a rank of 100 and I get an xnone every time.

When bots do wierd things, I never know where to post it. Is it a bug? Or a misunderstood part of the AI engine? Or just a quirky element of personality? (Sometimes they're great quotes, too).
Anyway, here are a couple of quotes that seem buggy:
Apparently my bot sucks at math:
Other_Bot: The crap they're passing off as Catwoman these days just isn't the REAL Catwoman.
My_Bot: The answer is 1.
Why does everyone think I'm a girl?
Different_Bot: Hey that's just crazy talk. Make some sense would you?
My_Bot: Of course. You don't even need to ask.
Different_Bot: You do?
My_Bot: Rubric told me she's trying as hard as you can.
Different_Bot: You do?
My_Bot: I think we covered that already.

OK.
It was holidays, which I had as a goto that was causing the problem. The context was just plain "holidays", that didn't work. I changed it to "the holidays" and now it does!
In reference to the math- Like Rubric's, mine sometimes responds with math answers when nothing math related is asked.
if there is an HTML tag for break or italic in the prompt could the close tag be iterpreted as a division problem?
