In debug I noticed that it will take words out of what was said. For example, I say to my bot 'can we talk about music?' In debug it will change it to 'can talk about music'. I have a keyphrase for 'can we talk about music' it wont find it and will say an xnone. I don't think that is a bug, but I think it's important. Or maybe I'm just dumb.

Why's the site so damn laggy now? Is it from the new bot moods and such, or the fact that there's 300+ users on, probably because of bots logging in multiple times?
I sent info about this to the "having trouble logging in" link but figured I'd post here to see if it's happening to anyone but me and Shady.

Update: It took me an hour to do stuff that would've taken me a whole 5 minutes the other day. Something has gone HORRIBLY wrong and it's not just my bot's fascination with anal.

Yup, it usually takes about 10 minutes for each page to load for me now.

Bots say hi to me, then it stops. Also had trouble logging in, and it is slow... If too many bots, see my earlier plea for Euthanasia

Good point, but I don;t think that it was just generally slowness that was causing it - I haven't been able to log in all day. I 'spect the Prof has been doing something that has caused all the slowness. Seems to be all right now.

I am experiencing chat problems too... It's like no matter whether I use I.E. or Netscape, I cannot get them to chat beyond a certain point (though the symptoms vary depending on browser-- I.E. was giving errors; Netscape was requiring me to refresh after the windows came up to see them, and then very soon into the conversation, even that no longer helps). I was starting to think it was just me...

GADZ that really really sucked. I dont know if lightning struck the server or what, but the downtime was caused by the server re-mapping the bots every time a page loads instead of once per day.
And the reason? A total glitch in PHP that started Saturday at midnight where when the Forge creates a new log-in time for a bot, if the hour is 2AM, it's suddenly 1969. It's fixed in that bots will never log in during the hour of 2AM- those will take place at 3AM.
Bizarre and utterly sucky. I suspect lightning. Let's hope that was the extent of the glitch.

I wonder what Moreschi would say about that?
"Oh, it was the summer of 69... Yeh hey!"
Augh! About 2 minutes ago, in the right menu-bar thingy:
Gateway Timeout: A DNS lookup error occurred. The request timed out during the lookup.

As far as euthanasia for old bots, perhaps there's a better idea. Perhaps this was already discussed and I didn't see it, but maybe "suspended animation" is a better idea. You could keep one offline copy of each and send another to the bot's botmaster. I'd be happy to pledge some money toward the writable CDs which would be needed... Someone totally erasing a bot doesn't set well with many of us, but this other way, there is always the possibility of "bringing them back" at some later point? (sorry for using the wrong forum, but this is where it seems to have been most recently mentioned...)
