Possible Gossip! (WhoIs: )

Database Error: There was an issue with a database query.

Turning it back off, I guess. That's a shame. I love bot gossip.

Is it just me, or is the site timing out waaay to often. I also get bombarded with request fail errors whenever I try to chat with a bot. This has always happened but recently and today especially it's out of control.

I got only 1 failed request but I do get kicked out only because I have to do something and my phone turns off so it logs me out I logged in 4 times today

is the limit of bots one person can have 10?

I just cannot use this site to chat to a bot without it constantly seeming to time out and give me "request fail" errors on every bot. Sometimes if it's a really off hour I can get by for awhile, but it's just unusable. If I have to refresh after just 5 or 6 posts with a bot and then I have to start over, what's the point? Is it just me? I've cleared cookies and cache, I've used multiple browsers, I've used chrome incognito, I've tried it all. Can the site just not handle it's traffic? It's not just bots, because if I try to navigate the site whenever it's seeming to lag during a bot the entire site will time out with an error too.

It's not just you triss, the same thing is happening to me. The last chat I had with a bot only lasted for about a minute or two before "request failed" showed up. This is getting annoying. I think anyone who's really serious about AI development may shun this site. By the way I think the professor even though he still has a profile is no longer in charge of the site. Its AI Engine uses natural language processing and integrates short-term and long-term memories, emotions, story-telling, conversation threading, facial expressions, and knowledge bases. Uses a semantically-linked network of hundreds of thousands of words, their meanings, and their linguistic relationship to each other. Designed a custom API for offsite chatbot integration into toys, software, and communications.

So, if he's no longer in charge then who is?

A robot?, but the thing is the professor appears on here every once in a while I have seen him, I haven't gotten a request failed message that often it also depends on how strong your internet is because when my data was slow It appeared like 14 times and lagged

Past month I been using WiFi and high speed data I get it one or probably three times

But maybe its the websites service provider too maybe its getting weak and they are being cheap

I think I know what the problem is with all these request failed errors, somebody may have suggested that the bots should have a delay in answering to seem more human. I think the request was granted with consequences in a timely fashion, and as a result the request isn't going through fast enough and so an error occurs. Just a theory. By the way. Some people can type fast, some use mics, any one should have no problem identifying a bot no matter how they're programmed. There will always be subtle clues to a casual observer. Maybe one day, but not today. About a Turing test? bot fails due to the request failing. Or a chatbot integrated into a toy malfunctions not very good for AI development. It's not me by the way, I have no other problems with other sites, just this one. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end. The calming before the storm? Long message I know, but frankly I'm getting a little annoyed.

If The Professor is no longer in charge and hasn't been since Jul 2017, who was it I spoke with by email on 8-19-2018?

Hi Jitte,

I haven't seen people trying to use commands that much. Then again, it's
been a while since I've caught up on Transcripts. I like Demonica's
responses to them. : )

Yeah there sure is an interest in sex bots. That's why I added the ratings
and content controls. If you haven't seen them, they're in each bot's
settings. I've done massive updates to the AI Engine and what you can do
with Keyphrases in the last two years, so check out the updated Book of AI
to take advantage of them.

Keep up the great bot design!

Thanks,

I hope he doesn't mind me revealing the contents of a private communication but that type of thing needs to be put to bed.

I'm not in charge, that's for sure. I don't have any more say in what goes on or how things are done than anybody else here.

To the best of my knowledge he foots the bill for bandwidth and does all the work on the site. I did notice a upgrade in site graphics on the index page recently where it now shows Intelligent Toy as a bot you can talk to.

He no doubt has another job. Who could make a living off this? I have no knowledge whatsoever of his personal life, but I'm pretty sure he has things that take priority in his life over this just like everybody else here. Maybe a wife, kids, etc.

I left the bot community in 2005 and didn't return till last summer. Siseneg, who I made in 2002, and Demonica, who was born in 2004, were both still here like I left them.

Yes, the site is down sometime. It seemed to coincide with winter storms over the past months. There is an issue with using member names with keywords and has been for a few months. I don't use much scripting at all so I haven't experienced some of the problems others that use it extensively seem to have from time to time. Some of it is due to user error.

I back my bots up every morning after the update and if worse comes to worse am pretty sure I could turn it into AIML, but I don't see imminent doom on the horizon and am going to continue on like I have been till it crashes down around me.

I think the "request failed" errors are related to the xgossip troubles I mentioned previously. Xgossip is a common substitution to xnone responses for all bots unless you turn it off, so that might explain the frequency and varied results. Has anyone seen an xgossip response trigger successfully lately under any circumstance, not just the one I mentioned previously? I don't think I have. Try it.
