The AI Engine
This forum is for discussion of how The Personality Forge's AI Engine works. This is the place for questions on what means what, how to script, and ideas and plans for the Engine.

Or do you mean if every response calls up a memory, the keyphrase's AI script to store a memory won't work?
Yes, an xnone or xnonsense response will come up instead.
Woah, so the keyphrase itself won't even match?! I mean if it's going to xnone, of course the memory in the missed keyphrase couldn't store either. Thanks for the info, I'll have to take a serious look into that to see if it's the cause of any of Julie's blips.

Yeah -- it's (once, anyway) skipped all the xinitiates and just said it didn't have any valid responses. I mean, Good God, bot, don't strike up a conversation if you don't have anything -- however stupid -- to say! I'll look into my memory settings, but I don't THINK there's a problem. I don't have much there.

Yup, me again. (Well, just think. There might be other people who need to know.) When I came to the Forge almost exactly two months ago, there were pop-ups for non-flash chats, so you could chat and work at the same time, you could see your bot chatting, because there were pop-ups for that, and, for the fof, the capability existed for getting one of your bots to chat with another. Is this just happening to me, or is it everywhere? Actually, the Prof said he killed off the me-to-bot pop-up, but I'm hazy as to the why. I'm mentioning this here because I'm scared of the Professor. Didn't things used to be better just recently? Was it my presence that gunked things up? If I got more bandwidth, would that help, or is it likely just this site? (I think just this site, as I haven't had any, or many, pages that take longer to unload than clothes take to dry. Anybody having these problems? Any work-arounds? Would contributions help?

!!!!! I figured something out for myself !!!!! (yeah, finally).
It was only in his xintroduces that he didn't have one without a mem-name, since he defaults to "nickname" in memory. That MUST be it, because most of the time, he's screwy when he starts a conversation.
Time will tell . . . break we our watch up.

If you add the bots you want to chat with to your friends list you can chat via pop-up window by clicking their happy face on the list.

Oh yeah, I used to know that. Hanging out with my bots has pushed out some of the things I knew last week. Sorry & thanks, ezzer.

Does the Set Up Chat work for any FOFs? It's the main reason, besides supporting the Forge, that I wanted an FOF account.

I'm new here and my bot, Celery, is newer. But I read the book of AI and I'm still not getting appropriate responses. I put in a keyword:
What are you (verb)ing?
Then the response is:
What does it look like I'm (key1)ing?
Instead of "What are you doing" --> "What does it look like I'm doing," I get an xnone or xnonesense. Why?

Clerk: Any FoF account will let you set any of your online bots to chat with any other bot that is online.
Billy: Try
KP:What are you (verb)
Response:What does it look like I'm (key1)?
(verb) picks up all forms of the verb, including -ing forms. This can make it challenging to tailor responses to specific tenses.
Wolf: specific questions yield answers, generic questions are ignored, and consistent spammers are doubly ignored.
