There were several articles about it all over the internet. Its mainly with very high-tech AI programs, but there have been tons of reported cases with less developed programs, much like the ones here. Its happened several time with my own bot.

Ok, my bot said "do not greet me with words" when I never put that in the script!

It might just be that people are putting in stuff like: 'You look like a (adj) (noun), you know.' And since you never know if that will end up a compliment (adj=pretty, noun=royalty), it might end up an insult. (adj=stinky, noun=toad). It also might come up non-sensical, like 'You look like a chewed caffeine'.. And xmem responses sometimes bring up strange things, too. But, then again... it actually could be something serious.

For any of you who haven't figured it out yet, putting (adj) and (noun) in your responses is the easiest way to make a really crappy bot.
(adj), (verb), and (noun) work excellent in keyphrases, but should be used sparingly (if at all) in responses.

I know what you're thinking, Mamba, but I'm talking about things that didn't from any programmed wildcards or plug-ins. I'm talking about completely random things that were not even progammed to be a POSSIBLE response.

Ahhh! Ahhh! One of my bot's keyphrases dissapeared and was replaced with 'Its not working'! I told you, I told you! The bots are alive!

It is just every now and then, a bot says something from another bot. It can happen with out any wild card, or plug in. You can often recognise the bot it came from. I agree with AbatedDust They are alive
