Thanks Eugene. I was hoping that was the case. Hopefully that'll get noted in the Book of AI eventually (nudge nudge Prof)

Anything with parenthesis (and apparantly some things without) can be gotten in that way. I think that's in there somewhere.

this is a question for fellow old timers around here that have good memories unlike me. What happened when the prof had to turn off the database the last time?

Don't be so selective with emotion rankings: make sure that there's at least one response for each keyphrase that applies all the way from -5 to 5.
Also, don't check "once" very often. That's a surefire way to get you in the "no valid responses" dilemma.
Don't make every single reply to a keyphrase rely on AI Script memories, unless those memories are built by default.
Check for these problems on your keyphrases that are triggering the problem, as well as on xnone, xnonsense, xgossip, and xemote (all of which can come up when you don't expect 'em).

Bonus points to Sonora for asking such a good question:
Judge Betty: Sorry, there are no valid Responses for me to choose from.
Sonora: Hmm... Why don't you pick an invalid response at random then?

I think parrotbot has a better use. He repeats what your phrase looks like to the forge. He could aid in creating keyphrases, and better understanding the forge itself.
Just a thought!

hey guys.
I'm trying to get my bot to take keywords out of the user's sentences, but it doesn't like the format thingy. I Have a sentence say i think (key1) is (key2) type thing, and my bot replys a xnonsence responce
