he does have that response in his "do you" category, but that category is only ranked 2. he's getting too independent...

Ranks that are that close together (2 and 3) often get switched around due to bonuses in processing. The bonuses come from things like the length of the matched phrase, the location in the sentence, and so forth. If you want to make sure a phrase is caught, you should use higher ranks.
I use ranks between 0 and 10 for Simulo's "grammar" responses, but higher -- between 25 and 35 -- for his "knowledge" responses.
So "tell me a joke" will catch "joke" -- the more specific part of the sentence -- instead of "tell me."

things like "can you" i rank 4, something in the middle of the sentence ranks higher, "can" would be ranked 3 in case there was nothing else to target in the sentence. i do use ranks up to 50 but most are between 2-10.

Hey, you guys, does anyone know if this will work?
<?PF remember (key1-key2-postkey) as "mem-contents"; ?>
(haven't decided on the memory contents name yet)
Thanks!

Ezzer-
I've been trying to do that too. So far I've ruled out:
remember (key1) (key2) as...
remember (key1) and (key2) as...
I haven't tried yours. Let me know how it goes.

what would trigger my bot to *sigh* if he does not have that as a response? it seemed to follow an x-emote-positive, but none of his responses are even close to what he said.

That's a built-in reaction to someone repeating the same message. One day I'll turn that into an xKeyphrase, but not just yet.

Ok, none of that worked...is there a way to store a memory that involves more than one "key" ?

Ezzer- not yet. But I suppose that would be useful, eh? I'll put it on the list.
